Yes, if there's an establishment similar to the Monstadt cathedral in Snezhnaya it should look Russian, but there are lots of models to base it on.

In fact, only the last one built is dedicated to St Basil the Fool for Christ; the central chapel is dedicated to the Intercession of the Theotokos.The grandest Russian cathedral is Christ the Saviour, completed in 2000 as a reproduction in modern materials of the original cathedral which had been demolished by the Communist government in 1931. The most historic cathedral in Moscow is probably Holy Dormition in the Kremlin, which had been the site for tsars' coronation since 1547.

As a Russian, Christ the Saviour Cathedral is not that impressive or pretty (on the outside). I would rather they use St. Basil's Cathedral. I mean cmon it looks like candy!! So it heavily clashes with the depressing snowy general vibe which makes it even better.

IMO St Basil's is too colorful to go with a depressing snowy vibe, and I think it'll be difficult to come up with a plausible interior to fit the needs of the story. (The actual interior is out of the question.) So one of the older, plainer cathedrals would probably fit better. If you don't like Dormition, how about Holy Wisdom in Novgorod?

It is nice but probably too "plain" looking for Genshin.
In terms of cathedrals I think Saint Petersburg has the best ones. (Subjective ofc)
These are the ones I think will fit nicely in Genshin:
1. Kazan Cathedral
2. St. Isaac’s Cathedral
3. Smolny cathedral
4. Kronstadt Cathedral
Of course I don't even know how many Cathedrals I haven't seen soo there can always be other great ones.

Kronstadt would work. I'm not crazy about the Baroque churches myself.
