If you read the message, in Chinese, Hat Guy is a1 mao4. But Cat Guy is a1 mao1. (Different accents but same syllable.) So it's entirely possible that Durin, in Chinese, misheard Hat Guy as Cat Guy. Don't call other people stupid just because you don't understand how other languages work.
