What do you think the final “area” will be in the Teyvat story? And what do you think will come after?

Will it be Snezhnaya? Celestia? Khaenri’ah? Deep in the Abyss?

As for what lies beyond, a friend of mine believes it will tie into Honkai after the Teyvat story is finished

I’m super curious about this too! Esp after hearing of the leak yesterday, I’m not big into leaks for spoilers so haven’t looked into it other than hearing “Genshin 2 is coming” (which we already knew) like are we going to end on Snezhnaya? Or will that just be a build up for what’s next? Cos I really wanna see all the other places you listed so badddd. I also hope Genshin (1 atleast) ends with a nice cinematic putting the time line together so we can watch the entire beautiful disaster of teyvat unfold

Yeah, my partner knows I’m not big on them so all he read to me was “genshin 2 is due after 7.x” but I always assumed that anyway as Snezhnaya is the last of our teyvat “acts” bar khaenri’ah ofc but even in the dain travail trailer that didn’t have a act number it was blurred out so idk if it’ll be Genshin atm or Genshin 2 but that’s all I know as I’m big on lore and theories so avoid leak details but ye

didnt they say in the last livestream that genshin will last many many more years (up tp 10/20)? i doubt its "finishing" anytime soon. there will always be something new i guess.

for the genshin 2 thing,i think its rather the start of a new chapter maybe if the twins met again. but i doubt the genshin we know will end at that point. my guess its rather the same game but just the start of a whole new story chapter.

My assumptions of how the final areas will be broadly structured haven't really changed after all this time. I believe the order will be: Snezhnaya -> Ruins of Khaenri'ah -> Celestia -> Abyss

There might be some things in-between, or something that comes after, but I believe this is more or less how these particular areas will be ordered. Also, I don't believe that Khaenri'ah, Celestia and the Abyss will have entire versions centered exclusively around each of them alone, the reason being that none of these areas are likely capable of sustaining the gameplay for an entire year. There's probably no Adventurer's Guild in these areas and just a strong lack of NPCs overall. It's hard to imagine that we'd be basically living in Khaenri'ah for five or six months straight.

Overall, this just seems like the most logical progression.

Final region will probably be Khaenri'ah or Celestia. As for what comes after, Hoyo has already laid the groundwork for threats the world might face from the broader universe, like Surtalogi or the trade civilization that wiped out Skirk's people.

As for Honkai, I think the game was originally intended to tie into that series, but I think the writers backed away from that angle and decided to make it standalone, instead. Wisely, in my opinion - Honkai has a lot of lore baggage that would be annoying to have to deal with, either leaving players feeling like they're only hearing half the story, or bogging down the game with lore exposition to get players caught up on the Honkai stuff.
