Thoughts on latest archon quest being more of a “movie”?
Finished the the latest archon quest about 2 days ago, and after sitting on it I was curious how others felt, specifically about the movie feel of the archon quest as compared to more interactive ones before it? I’ll preface with, I loved the whole story, and all the lore we got. The animation was peak and the whole thing was epic. I loved it all in that regard, but I was definitely not expecting the hours long cut scene quest. I’m used to there being heavy dialogue in these things but this one was definitely different. I was also slightly disappointed because I really love mixing cut scenes and animation with action/combat and game driven plot devices. It immerses you more and makes you feel like you’re actually doing things and apart of what’s happening. It’s a fundamental part of games. This one had hardly anything beyond one fight, and controlling a robot that moved at a snails pace. Story was epic, but personally I could have done with more hands on play. Not sure if this is where they’re going for the future or if it was more of a one off thing. Thoughts?
