The best f2p dps

Hey everyone, I’m a F2P player (AR44, fairly new) and I’m trying to decide who to pull as my main DPS among Nefer, Flins, and Skirk. I’m looking for a character that performs well at C0 with F2P-friendly weapons and teams (until i can get their partner), has strong damage in late-game content like Abyss, and offers good long-term value in the meta. Since I’m still progressing through the game and useful in multiple situations. I’ve seen mixed opinions about their performance, so I’d really appreciate advice from players who have tested them or understand the meta well—especially which one is the most F2P-friendly and worth investing in. F2P doesn't mean you have to keep units at C0. You can invest in characters. The idea that you have to keep getting new characters instead of investing in what you have, goes against the idea of getting long-term value out of the things you do pick. That is how you end up with benched characters

META discussions of this game are a massive circlejerk that has 0 efficiency value for a new player like yourself

There are no "good long-term value" out of context. You will get value from the characters you will use and invest in, as well as the characters that complement them well.

TL;DR pick any character you like and build their viable teams. Ask questions about the viable teams of those characters (like Nefer and Flins) instead of pre-loaded bullshit you hear from other people

The best F2P DPS is Mavuika aka the strongest character in the game. F2P =/= budget. Just because you are F2P doesn't mean you can't have strong things.

Mavuika's best team requires only one additional 5-star character (Citlali), where Nefer, Flins and Skirk require more. Mavuika is also much more flexible than all those three combined.

Define "soon". Since I'd say it's the opposite. I'd expect Mavuika to come back relatively soon. 6.5 or 6.6 would be my guess. Especially if Nicole happens to be good for her.

By soon I meant atleast after the anniversary in September. I believe the next few patches will focus on nod kari charcter reruns

Mavuika will *absolutely* rerun before 7.0 in September. She's an archon and the last time she ran was in 5.7. As I said, I personally expect 6.5-6.6. We ofc never know but it will 100% still happen in Nod-Krai.

In my opinion get Columbina for now, since its 100% pick for Lunar Teams she is kinda best in slot for long time.

At least have a proper lunar team since stygian onslaught could bring lunar bosses which you can clear them easily.

And Lunar teams are part of meta right now and they will stay for long time. So you could get Flins at 6.4(Grind for Ineffa as well if you are aiming this.) or wait for Nefer/Lauma.

I know you are f2p but you can get enough primogems in time with grinding since you have lots of exploration and quests. Singular C0 character wont satisfy you enough, trust.

I am currently saving for Neuvillette, after that i planned to go for either flins or skirk and if don't think I would be able to get neuvi and flins both, let alone ineffa too

Skirk is probably more expensive than any of meta teams probably. Like you need at least Skirk, Escoffier and Furina to function. Last slot is Citlali or Shenhe. I mean she can be played with Xingqiu&Yelan but i would go Lunar team line.

Maybe you can pull better cryo dps at Snezhnaya release meanwhile you are collecting other characters. Anyway its up to you.

I can think of Flins, Varesa, Mavuika that have a good team with around 1 or 2 five stars and stilll able to clear Abyss or SO (at least Menace).

Skirk or Nefer would be more “expensive” but tbf there supports worth it.

From my experience , good supports will last longer than dps so it can be one direction to invest.

First, the idea of F2P changed really fast in the last year, just 1-2 5\* doesnt work anymore, and signature weapons are a BIG upgrade to most teams.

In my opinion the best low budget team is Flins ineffa columbina sucrose. ineffa and bina have craftable weapons, sucrose also a 4\* weapon, and flins works with most general spears (like i said, signature is always a big upgrade)

Nefer is the most expensive of all those, nefer c0r1 lauma c1 bina c0 nahida c0 (or nilou c0r1).

Skirk is also more expensive, skirk c0r1 furina c0 esco c0 shenhe/citlali c0.

Some ppl will hype mavyuika, but they forget how awfull is a 4\* weapon mavuika. And those "maximun damage posible" is only with byke cancels, which is stupid to ask a AR44 player to do.

The newer DpS is most likely the stronger but if you want th most friendly out of those 3 then it’s Flins
Flins has both ineffa colombina an aino as available team mates this patch

You also have shied so survivability will not be an issue . It an issue colombina an use craftable weapon that can heal for even more sustain

Flins himself can use craftable weapon

Ineffa while a use craftable weapon, can also use Favonius spear

If you will play aino instead of colombina then you can use Favonius claymore on her

If you can’t use ineffa then you can play Fischl

Don’t get me wrong nefer is stronger but has team survivability issue also we don’t have Lama event weapon so her buff will be lower

Skirk performance differ drastically if you have her premium team or if you don’t have it

**Flins Aino Fischl Sucrose** is a strong f2p team. Add Ineffa or Columbina to strongly upgrade it even more for one 5 star cost.

**Skirk Xingqiu Escoffier Mona** is a strong Skirk team with just one 5\* cost (Escoffier) which is her best support by far so even if you are f2p you need her. Mona is standard and free at each anniversary.

**Nefer Aino Lauma Kuki** is also a strong Nefer team but Lauma is almost mandatory to have the best performance.

Regading f2p weapons, I think each of them gets really good options, especially the craftable weapons (respectively Prospector Shovel, Finale of the Deep and Blackmarrow Lantern)

People who follow leaks and calcs more closely will correct me, but if you're looking for a character to get right now, as in this patch or next one, wouldn't Zibai be exactly what you're looking for?

Zibai scales from DEF so relatively easy to build in terms of artifacts. You get Crit DMG from ascension and one of her best weapons is a F2P 3-star Harbinger sword that gives you Crit Rate (assuming you can maintain the passive) which again makes artifact farming easier. Plus the artifact set also gives your Crit Rate.

To top it off her banner has Illuga, which is part of her premium team, as well as Goro which you can also run in her team as well as Aino (if you don't have any other AOE hydro app).

If you happen to have Columbina, and manage to get Illuga (preferably at least C2 IIRC but ideally C6) - you already have like Zibai's best team.

Costwise it’s Flins. He’s pushing 100k DPS with just Ineffa/Aino/Sucrose. Two of those characters can be obtained for free guaranteed, and their weapons don’t even have to be amazing either (Favonius, Master Key, or Forest Regalia for Aino and Magic Guide for Sucrose work just fine). Neither Aino nor Sucrose absolutely need their constellations either and the whole team is good at C0.

Mavuika with a free weapon is a world of a difference vs a 5-star or BP weapon. Offensive claymores are kind of scarce for F2P (Tidal Shadow is your only choice). Even with Citlali as your 2nd cost, I don’t think Mavuika is gonna top Flins for ease of use and cost effectiveness. Sure Kachina/Sucrose is guaranteed free but Bennett isn’t. 2 cost Flins > 2 cost Mavuika.

Varesa is technically “1 cost”, but the 4-stars on her team really want their constellations. At full C0 4-stars she isn’t matching 2 cost Flins who does actually have C0 4-stars so the point is rather moot.
