That one is one of respawning chests. Very rare.

There are chests that can't be tracked with the compass, because they are buried or spawn when doing something completely random, like killing squirrels, collecting carrots, or lighting up a camp. There is one in Liyue that spawns when using a Geo construct on a statue, but there is no indication or whatsoever for that. Also, there are some chests that only spawn in multiplayer.
It's easy to miss a bunch of them, even if you have 100% exploration. Search for hidden/untraceable chest on Google, there are guides for them.

I think he means the chest in Minlin, Liyue, the teleport upper left of Wangshu Inn - there you'll spawn on the head of a statue, place a geo construct on its head and a chest will spawn 😊

Just so you know OP, I walked over here today and found the same chest....out of curiosity, I activated the compass and it actually pinged a friggin WARMING SEELIE leftover in Dragonspine nearby.
