Hear me out. No Skip button but..

No Skip button but the dialogue auto picks a choice after 10 seconds of not interacting or picking.

With how many quests ive been doing on my alt account lately, I kinda like doing it especially when I have a lot of interesting YouTube videos or Twitch stream to watch. I like that Im being entertained while progressing my alt account in the background. I just want to alt tab in peace man and not alt tab constantly every 5 or 10 seconds.

never considered this but it could be interesting. i think it could work if only because your dialogue hardly changes between which option you pick when you get choices most of the time.

What annoys me is you'll set the dialogue to auto progress but it will still occasionally stop and wait for you to press a button to continue, even if there was no actual choice to make. If the characters are going to yap for 20 minutes, fine, but please respect the auto setting then.

What annoys me is that in the newest archon quests there has been situations where the dialogue proceeds itself, even if the auto progress is set off.

that tends to happen when dialogue is mid animation like walking. of course it cant stop then

But they could have animated it differently, so that it would not happen. I don't remember that happening ever before Nod Krai.

talking while moving is something that obviously would happen occasionally
they wouldnt pause the whole movement at the end of every line. its not a video

Those delays are consequences of the game having actual cinematography to the conversations scenes, unlike Star Rail and ZZZ.

They happen because part of the timing of the sequence is tied to some animation, be it a character gesture or camera movement. You can't advance until the animation is done.

It's funny how games with far more complex cinematography like Cyberpunk still manage to let you skip dialogue.

They even manage to implement the dialogue skip in a "lore friendly" and immersive way, by presenting it as you fast forwarding through the conversation with your implants.

Well I dont need to pay attention to something ive already did. Im close to 100% the exploration and WQs of my alt account in the new Nod Krai region and im otw to do it on my friends account also lol. Yes I have time, Im a student on vacation.

Ipad kid attention spans.
This goes beyond just genshin, kids literally complain if games have any kind of opening or starting sequence and lose interest if within 10 sec of pressing start game its not immediately gameplay like megabonk.

I’m asking you that question because you implied that people who want the skip button don’t want to pay attention. People only pay attention when things are interesting. The way Genshin presents its dialogue choices is NOT interesting at all.

I can listen to autoplay no problem, in fact I would like to do that rather than have an actual skip button. But when your autoplay gets interrupted because you have to press a button to make a “choice,” that’s kind of dumb and unnecessary.

Not once has it been brought up, not even as a joke in either dialogue or dev streams

"Eventually" died within the first 3 years of not adding it, anything else is just beating a dead horse that buried within the earth's core

i like the occasional dialogue pick thats just a joke, most often at the expense of Paimon
but thats about it. unfortunately, they normally dont matter

one thing to note, imo
useless dialogue choices, seem basically meant to stop autoplay

Yes the jokes are also nice I agree. But if you are doing quests correctly you wont have 10 seconds of inaction anyway so it wont trigger for the most part.
