Traveler power level check in

Hey guys.

With the addition of the new traveler buff, and the bineffa wheelchair.

What would you guys say is the best/most synergistic traveler element now???

I tend to hate how underpowered traveler is in comparison to even a large chunk of four stars, so I’d love any ideas on that end.

( for reference I’m already running him c6 pyro with the natlan set and ayaka’s signature weapon, but I’d also like any worthwhile builds that may synergize more with the lunar reactions/bineffa)

I’ve been interested in people’s opinions on this, as lunar 4 is pretty new still and the verdict on these kinds of thing are still subject to change

When I play anemo Traveller with Bina and another Electro character, it kind of feels right. No big damage or anything, but I don't have the feeling that Im trying to do more than what I can. Which is just swirling with my rasengan for the lol

GL building anything that can work, even with the buff

Yeah that’s the vibe I’m getting, that said it’s more just lamentable that they’re scared of giving us a competitively good traveler.

Like I’m not saying make them Mavuika/skirk/flins/nefer/varesa level. But like I think they don’t really understand why people pull characters, like even if they made the traveler the best unit in the game, they’d still sell every bit as much on every banner, it’s a team game, built around variety, and characterization .

Don’t know what they’re so scared of. I swear I’m holding out hope that by the end of the first saga, we’ll get our full power lore accurate traveler (and maybe abyss sibling to spice things up)

Oh I'm sure Traveller will be decent in the end.

But when games give you full power at the end I can't keep myself from thinking "isn't this a bit too late? Its already the end, I don't have much time left to have fun with the new powers"

I enjoy playing pyro traveler with the lunar wheelchair. In that team she doesn't get to use the new charged attack, but it still feels really good. I do usually use Jean instead of Sucrose outside of endgame though, because playing without proper healing is kinda annoying. I have not yet tried using Xilonen instead of Jean, maybe that would be even better while also allowing me to use the new charged attack, and giving me better mobility for exploration stuff.

Not the best but I enjoy playing traveler ororon+chevy+pyro/electro purely for the fact that u can then stay on traveler and have the night soul damage trigger ororon and in turn overload and in turn Chevy passive to have enough damage to do most quest enemies while permanently being on traveler

Hmmm. Yeah that’s not too bad! I usually just plug pyro traveler in bennet’s place in natlanational if I want to play him for nightsoul!

I wonder if pyro really is still their best element, or atleast if it’s still much better than the rest, because a part of me hopes that electro/geo/dendro traveler are atleast close now with the buffs and their potential involvement in lunar reactions

Traveler was good in every iteration except hydro. The consensus is always if not the best why bother. The same reason people
Throw away slightly older capable units for newer ones.

Best is probably still pyro until we get a look at lunar crystallize maybe.

Hmmm you really think traveler is/was good? Thats an honest question, because I’m not even comparing him to like meta 5 stars, but more to the majority of 4 star units.

Sure he may be better than some, but it’s still a little crazy to me that units like gaming, kaveh, heizou,etc will absolutely blow traveler out of the water while being year old+ units and being 4 stars.

What I hope for the traveler is to make them a little more competitive across the board. Because currently, as dps they lack power and on field duration, as subdps they lack the same thing, as support they lack realistically noticeable buffs or debuffs, and as a sustain they lack any capability at all.

I just hope to find more variety where they’re useful, im hoping for a solid tier 0.5- 1 power levels.

I had my hopes for geo/dendro/electro mainly since it MIGHT play into lunar reactions, but that remains to be seen, currently the best I’ve seen is pyro with a natlan team, and realistically, everything dies to the natlan sub dps before traveler can really make any difference.
