Anyone else thought the Nod-Krai Archon Quest was going to go a different route?
First off, I do like what we got. It was very fun, and it’s probably my second favorite, under Fontaine (I just love the Trials concept too much)
But when I first saw the Nod-Krai trailer, I was really expecting it to be more like a race between the Traveler’s group and the Fatui. In this case, the Tsaritsa would assign Sandrone and maybe Arlecchino or Childe to capture columbina. The Traveler’s group would try to get Columbina on their side or gain her trust, while the Fatui would try capturing her. The Wild Hunt would act as a wild card, and Dottore, without being ordered by the Tsaritsa, would secretly try to capture Columbina for his experiment
Even with this different concept, we could still reach the same destination and use the same characters, which I thought was a pretty cool idea, we really haven't seen anything like this I genshin before (afaik)

But it turns out it’s just the same old genshin crew, its no different than natlan crew, fontaine crew or any other nation.
"Faction rivalry" just smacked of Natlan's "nation of war" that I knew exactly what was in store.
Also Jahoda peak, though a former Treasure Hoarder.
Their marketing made it seem like the faction rivalry in Nod Krai is going to be a big part of the AQs when it wasn't. Even the big beef between the Frostmoon Scions and Fatui felt like it went nowhere. That's why the "League" they set up at the end of Act 8 did not feel safisfying.
Also, didn't really like Columbina's line "And the home you stole from them" directed at Dottore. We're just going to ignore how territorial Sandrone was in act 1? She literally said "Welcome to Nod Krai, dominion of the Fatui". Love Sandrone's character but they kinda ignored that part of her later.
Actual faction wars with playable characters fighting each other? Check.
Playable character as the antagonist? Check.
Important character dies? Check.
Pretty much nonstop tension and economical use of time with little exposition? Check.
Ngl Inazuma and Sumeru are the peak of the game's storytelling and it went downhill from there
3 dialogues of fatui fighting with lauma the sub plot was completely ignored.
Itself always the bare minimum tthat's dropped after a few lines or a single cutscene.
But after that, they seemed to have toned down...with even non playable like Capitano being mostly friendly.
Azar and Dottore seemed to be the few rare exceptions left.
2.0 was generally positively received...but after that the writers seemed to chicken out and tried to backpedal on the whole conflict and that's what the majority of the complaints were.
Gotta remember that for a while, Raiden Shogun was the highest revenue banner and was pretty popular...with her 2.0 entrance being considered one of the most coolest in the whole game.
It was mostly after the Inazuma MQ ended that she became more polarizing, after the devs backpedaled.
Even if they didn't mention that, it's literally just constructive criticism
