New a player: C2 Columbina or C1 Columbina with C0 Ineffa?

I feel really stupid for even typing this out, but I've been grinding really hard for the past 3 days. After getting Columbina at 80+ pity, then losing to Jean at 80+ and finally just when I was about to get Ineffa at 80+ pity again for the third time, I was so tired that I didn't notice the banners were reset to Columbina after logging in again.

I ended up getting a C1 Columbina instead of C0 Columbina and Ineffa.

I need advice whether I should now go for C2 Columbina and just skip Ineffa, or keep trying for C0 Ineffa.

In the future, I really want to summon for, Raiden, Neuvillette, Furina, Mavuika, Citlali, Nahida, Escoffier, Kazuha, Yelan and Zhongli.

I don't care for Flins, or Nefer or Lauma, honestly I don't care much for Ineffa as well but I've heard the duo can make any team good so I was interested in that.

Originally, I was planning to run Neuvillette (C0R1), or Raiden (C0R1), or Mavuika with Columbina. But I'm lost now...

Really appreciate any help and sorry for the long post.

A new character is almost always worth more than any single constellation.

Likewise you have like 17 characters you want to pull.

I’m sure Ineffa will benefit some of those 17 better than Columbina’s single constellation.

Do you like Zibai? Given you dont like Flins, Nefer, Lauma, or Ineffa...Columbina was a curious choice. She's a good hydro applicator but she needs at least one nod krai character.

So to answer your question, unless you are specifically pulling for zibai c2, you should pickup ineffa to be able to use your columbina in more teams.

I'm conflicted about Zibai. She looks REALLY COOL! but her team looks meh with Illuga particularly.

Also I don't have enough primos to get Zibai C2. I was initially thinking Zibai, Zhongli (when I get him in future), Columbina, and one other character that is not illuga, probs in the future.

So I don't know whether to go for Neuvillette or Zibai at this point. Neuvillette seems really easy to play, Zibai, seems a bit complicated with her rotations tbh.

I did end up going with Ineffa though, and the plan was Neuvillette, Columbina, Ineffa, and probably Xilonen/Kazuha as the team. But Zibai looks pretty cool!

As a new player for any gacha, you should always prioritize quantity of characters over quality. (Unless you have money to blow. Because power creep is a common selling point.)

I feel your pain! After 3 late pities, I believe you might hit an early 5 star this time. Good luck!
Even if you lose 50/50 time, you will have a guarantee for the next banner that has Neuvi or later on all the characters that you need will run.

Go for Ineffa coz Columbina will rerun soon and you can get a c2 then

I tested Lunar Charged with Columbina without Ineffa for more than a week, and I wouldn’t recommend anyone to do this choice. Columbina alone enables Lunar Charged, but wasn’t of any help against any content that shilled it, and all my teams were better without her.

Against the Fatui in Stygian, she straight up doesn’t work when he has a shield, she can’t apply Hydro because she is out of range.

Against the first boss in Stygian, she couldn’t do nearly enough damage to destroy the shield and ignore the enemies the boss summoned, and she didn’t help at all trying to kill those.

Her C2 has bonuses that are only for Ascendant Gleam, and the 4 star characters that provide that tend to drag back the team.

This is so true and makes a lot of sense. The difference with Fischl vs Ineffa was huge. I'm really glad I went with Ineffa instead! Thank you so much for the advice, especially the last c2 part.

For new players, if youre willing to spend, you can go for constellations, but if you will limit your spending, might as well get other characters than getting cons. Its better to have multiple team comps for different endgame contents.

In abyss you need at least 2 functional teams (will also depend on shills, but easy to bruteforce with good dps).

In Imaginarium theater you need a lot of characters lvlled to 70, just to try the mode. Higher diff mode requires more characters.

Stygian onslaught requires 3 functional teams (although the primo rewards can be acquired in the hard mode, which you can reuse your teams. If you try the harder modes, 3 teams are required since you cant reuse them).

So imo, its always better to get new characters than cons, when you are starting out.

Ineffa. Columbina is not very good if she can't buff lunar reactions and Ineffa applies a lot constantly off-field.

If you're a new player, don't spend your wishes on weapons or constellations. You will get FAR more milage out of expanding your roster. Get a variety of characters rather than just pumping one character to the max.

This is especially true for Columbina. Without Nod-Krai partners the boosts she gives to Lunar reactions aren't particularly dramatic. Ineffa would be an excellent choice.

After you've played for a long, long time, you'll eventually get enough characters that getting new characters starts to suffer from diminishing returns. At that point, you can start thinking about weapons and constellations - but when you do, there will likely be someone better suited to receiving them than Columbina.

In general, new players should go for breadth rather than depth. The more characters you have, the more options you have for teams. That said, don't ever pull for a character you don't really like. Primogems are valuable, spend them on people you like.

Get Ineffa first because you pretty much need her at this point. Columbina's C2 is very strong but Columbina herself is very not strong. She ***needs*** a Nod Krai five star to pair with her otherwise her numbers stay low. Non-NK lunar teams are not good, because lunar reactions are not good, they don't do enough damage on their own (Lunar Crystalize is the only decent one because it replaces a reaction that does zero damage, but geo sucks so much as an element it only makes up for those shortcomings). And non-NK non-Lunar teams are just a waste of her kit, she is just a bad hydro applicator in these scenarios.

Once you have Ineffa, Columbina C2 becomes interesting, because her C2 is her best constellation. But in the worst case you'll have another opportunity in a few patches when she reruns. We don't know when Ineffa will rerun next since that's already her second banner.

I'll probably get her C2 next time, for now I think I'm in a good position to save for either Zibai or Neuv (which is another confusion of its own).

Columbina is kinda useless without Lunar characters.

Ineffa and Lauma are the best Lunar characters we have right now, and you will see atleast one of them is always used in end-game content now.

After that you'd want to get Flins/Nefer/Zibai.

Flins generally wants C1 or Ineffa.

Nefer without Lauma is sad.

Zibai does not have any premium requirements at the moment. While its true that C6 Illuga is her best-in-slot, in reality he is just not worth it. Ill probably be using Xilonen or Zhongli with her.

You're a new player. You want new characters so you have more options. If you feel lucky, don't go c1 Bina and instead roll on the weapon banner, but ONLY if you feel lucky. Otherwise, maybe wait for the 2nd half and get Neuvilette. He's a good Luna Charge partner for Bina and Ineffa, Fischl or Succrose as the last member, and you're good to go.

I was thinking of going for Neuv as well for the Neuv, Bina, Ineffa team (last one probably a buffer, or healer or shielder).
