Who's the better investment pick? Pyro Archon or Cryo Gordon?

I've been saving primos for characters that I've needed for my teams to reach premium status for a while now, but....once again, Hoyo has thrown a wrench into my wallet, as recently, it's been leaked that Escoffier will be re-running in 6.4 and since other Natlan units like Varesa and Xilonen have started to rerun as well, it would be safe to assume Mavuika will be coming back soon too.

I'm putting this out here now... I AM F2P, so I have a limited amount of pulls I can do for characters, SO I come here to ask who would be better to pull for based on what each situation would be in my account for either character.

**If I pull for Escoffier:** She'll mainly run support for a Skirk team (and maybe Ayaka if I need her for Theatre/Stygian), her main teams will consist of either DPS's, Furina, and Shenhe so her teams are already set up for her.

**If I pull for Mavuika:** She'll be used as support/Off-field DPS for Varesa Overload and Wrio. Reverse Melt, she will be running Obsidian Codex since I have Iansan and Xilonen on Cinder city already, so I can use her as a on-field DPS for forward melt too.

Weapon-wise, whoever would be the better pick will end up getting their weapon, since I built up pity on the weapon banner already.

I have wanted both of these characters since their debut, but was unable to get them. So, if you all were in my shoes (and quite possibly you could be), which character would need to be wished now instead of waiting another fifty-leven banners for their next rerun with new characters coming out?

Esco is stupidly good for Skirk. Like best in class and it's not close.

Mav is a great sub DPS but an absurdly broken DPS if you have Citali or C4 Rosanna with Xlionen.

Mavuikas weapon is also BIS Greatsword.

Right now? Go for Mavuika. However, considering the region after is Snezhnaya, Escoffier may be incredibly good for whatever that region throws out.

Or it could go into the opposite direction and they create a new mechanic which doesn't use Escoffier and freeze at all. Columbina is leagues better than Furina for lunar stuff, they could easily make a character like that for the new Snezhnayan mechanic.

Mavuika has value in the fact that she's good at what you're looking for and also still fine as a DPS on her own. For your specific wants as an off field DPS and Support, Durin might actually fit better (he's just a worse Main DPS).

However, she is an Archon, and will get rerun every year guaranteed.

Escoffier basically brings your Skirk Team online. She has "Future Impact" value, as she should work well for more Cryo DPS characters down the road. She lacks any real value outside of being a Cryo Support, though. That said, her rerun schedule isn't guaranteed at all.

It comes down to a few questions.

1 - How much do you like Skirk? If she's your favorite, just get Escoffier.

2 - Do you need a Pyro DPS? Mavuika fits the bill here. If Skirk isn't your favorite Main and you need a Pyro DPS, get her.

3 - How much do you like Durin? Is reasonable to assume he'll get a Rerun in Nod Krai or very early Snezhnaya. If you want him, get Escoffier and save for him.

She brings more damage when she's the DPS (obviously). In a purely support role, Durin has advantages as a Hexenzirkle Character. It's very reasonable to assume we'll have more characters in this alignment (besides already having Mona, Sucrose, and Fischl as great Supports), which will only increase his long term value.

All fair points, in those cases...

1. She been my main Cryo DPS used since she came out, and she's fun as an on-field DPS on MH

2. The only Pyro DPS's I have are C1 Hu Tao and Lyney, but tbh I use her for Vaporize, and Lyney has been collecting dust for a minute in my Mono Pyro team and only gets used when Theatre has pyro in it

3. I considered durin when he came out, but Varesa was the higher priority back then. At best, I'd probably use him in Wriothesley's team instead of Mavuika and maybe a Klee Hexerei Team if I decided to get her.

I go for escoffier since she's versatile unit. She's a must have for skirk team but she can also good to pair with neuvillette for a freeze team and her heal is good enough for furina's fanfare. Also escoffier is really good at applying cryo constantly since her skill has a 100% uptime and can dish out great damage. Occasionally she's also good for melt team because of her constant cryo application. If i were you, i would go for escoffier because she's a future proof unit and can be place on any team. Mavuika is a great dps but if your using her as an off field dps, its better for you to pull for durin since he's much more better as an off field dps/sub dps than mavuika.

Mavuika more versatile, her or Mualani can create a full abyss clear team with no other 5 star limited chars kinda insane how much frontload damage they do.

I do think the biggest misdemanour and her kit mistake with Escoffier is Skirk can easily be replaced if a better cryo DPS comes and if a Hydro one comes out then Nuevillete becomes Ayato/Childe redux

Escoffier is a worse design problem than Lauma imo since Lauma is alot more specific on her quills.

Mavuika is a f2p GOAT. Chuck on r5 tidal shadow, Bennett, Iansan 3 chars only and she'll f up the abyss very very easily.

Because I may not have enough time to stack up on primogems in time when she does rerun, adding the possibility that I lose the 50/50, going for 1 when my chances (and gems) are high is less risky than going for both with a less than favorable chance when Mavuika gets her rerun.

I used to believe in future proofing, until genshin power creep was turned on. Now I believe escoffier will be like what shenhe is now once sneznaya comes around. They’ll probably make a new cryo support that shreds, heals, sub DPS, and buffs cryo damage at c0

Mavuika is the best pyro dps, but Escoffier is literally the best support for cryo/hydro teams, she is the reason why freeze is viable and Skirk is a monster.

You can get good results with other pyro dps but there isn't a cryo support who can compare to Escoffier, at least in her niche.
