[I saw this snek on the BP and was wondering if he had a name or had any importance to the lore?](https://preview.redd.it/3ip5swl9snfg1.png?width=1744&format=png&auto=webp&s=91d27e2f90eba65ac89d38be569cc5b478a2b36b)
the bp cutscene has a snake when it's talking about the pearl getting corrupted or whatever

But the BP cutscene doesn't repeat since 5.1
I don't know if it plays for opening the BP for the very first time, but still.

it does, that's just so it doesn't play every single patch since we would have seen it like 40 times before

Since Hoyo recently changed the Welkin Moon to Columbina, it would be wild if one day we get the BP cutscene again, but slightly altered after a quest

There was a cutscenes? I don't ever remember seeing one but tbh I started my account over 2 years ago but didn't start playing past liyue until about 6 months ago 😅

Popular theories are divided between Nibulung, King Irmin, or Abyss. Since it's an allegory we don't 100% know for certain.

[In the intro for the battle pass,](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bq9HdTcSyr0) the Crowned Heir seeks the Genesis Pearl. During the animation, a snake drips venom over the pearl, turning it black. This is that snake.
What all this actually means is still unclear at this point, but there are plenty of fan theories.
