How do I compromise on an Artefact set?

Columbina’s been out for a fair bit now and with her arrival came a new set of artefacts, only one of which is relevant to her teams. The teams I’ve prepared are Flins/Ineffa where for either of them it’s best to put Columbina on a Silken Moon’s Serenade set while Ineffa takes the Aubade of Morningstar and Moon artefacts.

The dilemma comes with Zibai who I will be pulling for in the next update. From what’s been calculated and speculated around her comps, it’s been shown that the best set for Columbina on that team is the Morningstar set, while the Silken set should be given to Illuga. The inconvenience of that is that I don’t want to keep manually changing Columbina’s sets every time I want to switch over to the other team.

The real fix to this is Genshin adding a preset system for Artefacts but I won’t hold my breath for that quality of life feature. I just wanted to know if maybe I can get away with putting the Morningstar set in Illuga even if it’s not ideal so I don’t have to keep adjusting Columbina between these two sets and can jus keep her on Silken?

If you don't want to switch between Aubade and SMS, then just run double SMS.

I guess I could do that, but aren’t I losing out on a lot of team damage by not including the Aubade set in the comp?

Aubade only buffs the wearer. Illuga's personal damage is pitiful, so there is no real benefit from having him wear it. Having both on SMS also makes things more convenient in situations where you're not using all three at once, for example Theatre or if Columbina is relegated to another team in Stygian or Abyss.

That’s fair. I don’t mind adjusting for end game content, I just didn’t want to manually fix stuff when I’m playing overworld and just switching teams. Thanks for the advice!

I mean, for overworld purposes you could likely run Columbine on Pale Flame and never notice. Overworld isn’t hard enough to even care what sets you’re running.

As a rule I always choose the set that works in the most teams.

The only exceptions are characters that I only play on specific teams. Like, my Navia is in MH, which is definitely not the best choice for most teams, but it's great with Furina and I only play her with Furina.

you can just give Illuga 2 em sets and go about it. As long as you can clear stuff, nobody fucking cares if you play optimally or not.
Alot of people just stick double scroll set on xilonen/citlali because alot of people also use xilonen on other teams.

Hyper optimization of artifacts only is relevant in high level stygian, and only if you are very close to the DPS check. You can get away with less optimization (having two characters in SMS set for example) most of the time. For when the next stygian is around, you can farm better pieces of the new set. Don't worry too much for now.

Illuga cannot use SMS until he is C2, so in the meantime he runs double 2pc EM sets. You could just keep him on that while Columbina runs SMS.
