Where to start playing Genshin from after quitting it years ago?

I LOVED Inazuma and it was the best area ever IMO. Played sumeru, but stopped at the desert part. Played a bit of Fontaine starting area, then stopped and when I saw Natlan character playstyles, I uninstalled the game. I HATED the movement focus on the characters, so awkward to use. Simple characters were better.

Wanna get back into it, but seems so overwhelming now

I mean you either come back to the account you played and pick it up from where you left off or make a new account and start playing from beginning, you don't really have any other options

They added a quest log where you can see the chronological orders of quests ( archon quest, character quest etc) continue from where you left or explore freely

Why don't you start fresh from Nord krai

I too had a similar problem when I joined back after a 2 year hiatus and starting fresh from the nord krai chapter really helped me ease in . Most of the mechanics are pretty simple and easy to do.

Couldn't you just not pull them or not use their movement skills?

Anyway, there's only one place for you to start from: where you left off.
