I'm not sure it's ever stated outright, but I think that temple is strongly hinted to be the prison of the First Angel. The one who rebelled against the Heavenly Principles. And apparently, Boreas was her goodest doggo? O\_o

Given all of the seelie and the lyrics to her song, it was absolutely her.
People can argue all day about whether the rebellion was justified in its extent, but HP wasn't exactly any better for what they did to the angels.

tbh, the 3 notes in there made it pretty clear that the Angel in there was Koitar (the First Angel), the letter on the left of the door states that the First Angel Wanders the hall of Angels, then the Note on the top of the ruin mentions stuff about the Heavenly Principles and her Lover (Voyager), she would've forgotten his name if it wasn't for Boreas.

Yeah Boreas left nod-krai to help people and came to the land that is now Mondstadt. He got into a fight with Decarabian during the Archon War about 2600 years ago. After Decarabian was defeated, Boreas decided that his power of ice can only hurt people so he willingly gave up his body and let his strength flow into the ground to nourish it.

The fact that boreas called koitar his mother is pretty surprising and infact that boreas got his power not from a god but from an angel, the first and the leader of the angel race. It still bother me how powerful of a god decarabian is to manage to go toe to toe with boreas.
