Why do people take my characters in co op domains?
Whenever I pick a character to play someone always has to take them from me. Like, they never actually want to play that character originally. They just see that their character is 3 levels higher than mine and think it’s funny to take them from me. I don’t understand. Can someone explain if there’s something I’m not understanding?

Anyway, assuming you're choosing a character suitable for the Domain, if someone picks the same character but higher level than yours one of two things happened: they didn't pay attention to your character while they were doing their choosing or they *did* notice but generally people will lean toward the higher level character in co-op, all other things being equal. I don't think anybody's thinking it's funny to "take them from you". Most people just want to get in the Domain, farm for mats as efficiently as possible, and move on to something else.
But yeah, that sounds irritating.
Somehow everyone’s out to get you, you don’t get to play who you want.
And your response is to try throw the run.
If I could, I’d block you already just so I never have to play with you.
Fair reminder: nobody can pick up tone over text, it's why /s exists.
Edit: pretend I said significantly instead of significant.
Nobody is purposefully choosing your character because theirs is a higher level. Literally nobody. They want to get in the domain, kill it fast as possible, then leave.
If you want to play a certain character, then choose them and don’t change. Leader always gets first dibs, then after that, it’s free rein. I can count on one hand out of the hundreds of coop games I’ve played where I have to leave because somebody won’t change. 99.9% of the time, they just want to beat the domain and claim the rewards as fast as possible.
You’re giving main character energy in the worst way.
Cool story.
Nobody ELSE cares to take who you play as.
And honestly, why does it matter to you…..you play alone? You have a team of 4.
You play online? You’re on a team. Even IF so many people were out “to get you” like you seem to believe? Pick someone else and just play the damn game.
In my coop experience, I often wait until people choose before I decide on mine. The hardest choice is whether I should play a support or a dps. Occasionally I end up switching to a character someone else locked in. It happens. But as long as the content gets cleared...it's not really a big deal. Using resin is such a small part of experiencing the game.
Anyway, what do you even mean by "take your character?" If they change to the same one you're using, just hold your ground. Worst case scenario, you can ask for help through your signature, this sub or the official Discord and you'll likely get help from people who want to help more than being testy.
Having said that, make sure the char you pick is actually helpful for the Domain. If you pick someone who is significantly underleveled, then you're just in the way.
Anyways, why does them swapping to the character you're using mean you have to swap? I've never done co-op domains so I don't know the rules with character selection or locking.
There's no such thing as every single player randomly and independently going out of their way to screw one particular person without any coordination.
Ergo OP is just wrong in the heda and needs to seek professional help. No, seriously, my grandma also thought everyone there is out to get her and refused to get help (doctors are out to get her too after all) and then literally scared herself to death.
1. There's no such thing as being locked in. People get with one character, look at what team archetype is being assembled and switch out to something that fits. It's perfectly normal for multiple people to look at a particular lineup and get the same idea.
2. Don't play popular/recent characters. Everyone tries to play them. If you are playing the latest archon of the month, you gonna get those mexican standoffs with other FOTM chasers.
You can both sit there twiddling your thumbs until they change back.
