Wait I’m genuinely curious why? One of the issues with Chongyun x Xingqiu is the underwhelming presence Chongyun has when compared to xingqiu imo.

Gives him made up leads on spirits which sends Chongyun across Liyue searching for ghosts that most likely don't exist, which definitely doesn't help with his self-esteem regarding his situation as an exorcist.
Constantly tricks or forces him to eat chillis to enter his yangyun state which is treated as a cute joke both by the game and the fandom, when our introduction to it leads to him passing out after tampering with his safe food. Either you take it as a food sensitivity because of his autistic coding or you treat it like something akin to alcohol given the fact that when he chose to consume chillis in the poetry event, he got very bubbly and didn't have any negative effects. Either way, Xingqiu is messing with Chongyun's food despite Chongyun making it clear he doesn't like it because Xingqiu finds it funny and a lot of fans fetishise the idea of making Chongyun act "normal" or like a feral animal because of it which rubs me the wrong way.
Chongyun literally suggests that the traveller make a "victims of Xingqiu alliance", which is not a normal thing to say about a friend. There's a huge difference between teasing someone in a friendly manner and making them feel unsafe around you. Chongyun remaining friends with him in spite of this is something I've personally been through and it is awful. Being such a heavily autistic-coded character in a region that's shown to be pretty rural and traditional would make it incredibly difficult for Chongyun to make new friends, so he's either stuck hanging out with Xingqiu because 50% of the time there won't be any negative interactions or he doesn't even realise that he is allowed to leave the "friendship" and go to other nations where he might meet people that understand him better.
The few good interactions spoken of by Chongyun give the vibe of "only I can bully him" from Xingqiu's end which is not at all healthy and the fandom just takes it all at face value for the sake of making the same shipping jokes. It's always Xingqiu triggering yangyun with no regard for Chongyun's opinion on the matter, and Chongyun going along with it because he's gullible and never really interacts with other characters.
I would kill for Chongyun to interact with Freminet or Mika or Razor and spend time with people his age that won't stress him out, or have him talk to Kaveh and realise that his relationship isn't healthy and learn to build some boundaries. Have Shenhe take him to explore the mountains and speak to Xianyun or let him properly hang out with Xiao! Please, I am begging Hoyo to actually do something with this character instead of just keeping him as the butt of a joke!
