How do you think Hoyo will treat Skirk going forward? (in Genshin 2)

If Genshin 1 is all about Teyvat, then I would assume Genshin 2 will bring us beyond by resuming the sibling's journey through the Universe and that's where we should normally expect Skirk to become more relevant than ever considering Teyvat is holding her back both lore and gameplay-wise. do you think if we ever get a peek at her original power, will Hoyo just update her kit or release a brand new unit? Because I think Genshin 2 will be the right occasion to introduce a new power system not restricted by the 7 elements

Since when do we have Genshin 2?

>!It was recently leaked to happen after 7.0 but we will pretend like it's just a theory for now!<

>!Fuck off with leaks in the main sub. You don't even understand the leak ffs!<

>!I don't mean that comment, I mean the whole premise of the post. You're not fucking subtle.!<

corecenite2026-01-27 13:12

talking about leaks in the main sub? nice.

babangelsin2026-01-27 13:39

The leakers of that specific leak walked back the leak

We have a long history of far-fetched leaks not being realized and you dumbass kids jump at the most unverified leaks at every opportunity

fiersome082026-01-27 15:38

leak ? you mean a screenshot of telegram chat, without attaching any credible sources ?

New_Economist_94292026-01-27 13:03

From the story trailer where it says "chapter teyvat" and the company wanting the game to last 20 years.

20st_century_person2026-01-27 12:57

stop with genshin 2 misinfo holy shit

NoPalpitation28462026-01-27 12:57

Genshin 2?

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Now where would you get that idea from?

Alpha06Omega092026-01-27 12:58

We got at minimum 4-5 years before genshins story ends, and there is no guarantee we are leaving tevyat especially with everything happening and traveller considering tevyat his home. I doubt skirk will even be remembered as much in 5 years

Genshin is far from finished. The rumors of 'Genshin 2' are nothing but baseless misinformation. only a fool would succumb to such a lie.

japanese_artist2026-01-27 17:35

Genshin is far from finished but the Teyvat Chapter will soon be done (this being Genshin 1), whatever Chapter comes afterward is Genshin 2. Even putting leaks or rumors aside, you don't need leakers to tell you Genshin won't end with the current storyline. I was never referring to a brand new game with a brand new engin to begin with, even my post was talking about things beyond Teyvat. It's just you guys who have made that assumption

ahmadalhuraibi2026-01-27 17:49

>teyvat chapter will soon be done

Snezhnaya? Khaenri'ah? Beyond that? We still have a long way to go. The story is far from finished. Calling it 'soon' is unnecessary worrying. Stop obsessing over the future and enjoy the ride.

Plus-Theme-32832026-01-27 13:05

It's still early to think about genshin 2 possiblity

New_Economist_94292026-01-27 13:06

Aether will no longer travel the universe; he considers Teyvat his home now, and after defeating Phanes, he will be the one to take care of the planet. Genshin 2 will basically be about Aether protecting Teyvat from the true abyss.

belfouf2026-01-27 14:00

Genshin 2 is the name of the continuity of the story, it's not a game guys

Awkward-Surprise2026-01-27 14:11

Yooo!!! We're getting Genshin 2 before GTA 6?!!! What's next Dota 3?!!!

>!this dude really made a post in main sub based on sus af leak!<

ImNotTiredOfWinning2026-01-27 14:31

I want to pull for her. She looks amazing.

rekage992026-01-27 15:29

OP is spreading misinformation and trying to cause drama.

I really wish mods would just ban users like this.

Veiled speculation about questionable leaks aside, I've long been of the opinion that once the "Teyvat Chapter" was over, we'd go to another world. By the end of the story, we'll know too much about this world, when a HUGE part of the enjoyment of Genshin Impact comes from uncovering secrets of the past.

Some have suggested we'll explore the dark sea of Teyvat - but even that is part of the world created by Nibelung, and so will likely not have enough mysteries on its own to support a Chapter 2.

Another world, though - or even the universe in general - could have plenty of history to uncover. And the game already seems to be laying groundwork by introducing greater-universe elements, like Skirk's home world, the traders that ravaged it, and the various civilizations Surtalogi encountered. Surtalogi and the traders may well be among the antagonistic factions.
