Which would you choose? R1 for Mav Skirk Nefer, or a new DPS C2R1?

Context: Welkin player, invests horizontally (more characters, less dps). All of these are C0R0 except Furina. I am able to clear end game content, and Fearless in Stygian but it takes time and effort.

I was hoping getting their BiS would make my experience easier. Their cons look very tempting as well. Im not sure if investing vertically at this point in time would be smart, never tried it.

What would you choose? And for those who invested vertically, was it worth it? Thanks!

Signature weapon is usually a significant DPS increase, and these are three of the best teams on the market right now

I don't think I've ever regretted pulling a signature weapon for a carry, it just makes the experience better

my investments tend to be due to luck, of something early or winning 50/50 when next patch didnt have some goal i wanted.
if youre asking if to get r1, mention current weapon. not just say c0r0. if you got anything better than the craftable of choice, sometiems even with that, then c1 is often a better choice

Ah sorry bout that. Yeah for the longest time my rule of thumb was, if there's a 4* or a standard 5* alternative. I dont pull for weapon. I prioritize characters because they give me more experience and gameplay rather than weapons which only gives dps mostly. Mav is WGS, Skirk bond of life weapon, Nefer Black marrow.

for Skirk team, youd like Escoffier c1 more than Skirk c1
Nefer, id go for weapon depending what the other weapon choice could be

Mavuika c1, i got that by mistake due to capture radiance, i love the travel benefit but you dont benefit from the easier burst filling when you have Citlali+Xilonen, so in her case id really consider r1 unless you might try a c2 in the future

I will check Escoffiere's C1 but yeah for Skirk Im more onto her sig than c1. The busted is c2.

For Mav I agree C1 isnt much. So just R1.

Nefer's Cons and Lauma cons are the most tempting ngl.

Yeah I would say not having Ineffa is my proof I dont pull for meta. Dont get me wrong I would get her if Im a big spender haha. Is alre still relevant? She probably is in higher cons? My winged spear looks weird on her. Haha

Mine is C2R1 Arle, and I beat the Fearless lunar-shilled doggy boss with her, so she's still relevant to me. Not sure for C0 Arle tho...

Dire? R1 for all of those (if at c0) won't make it possible unless you have amazing skill and the correct lineup

For fearless having their r1 really helps a lot.

C2R1 for future dps really depends on whatever releases, I don't think anything good will release for at least 2 patches more, but who knows.

I'd invest in Lauma c2 if possible, weapon not necessary, R1 for nefer is great, and her c1+c2 are very strong too.

For mav r1 is great, c2 is amazing, her supports also appreciate investment (specially Citlali c2r1, xilonen is meh tbh)

Skirk r1 might not be super necessary, depending on your actual 5* swords you might find something close enough, if only 4* available then it's a good upgrade. I do not know enough about her cons to reliably recommend anything tho, but I think c1 was helpful, don't take my word on that, and can't fact check rn lol

Thanks for your input! I totally agree on the nefer team. Their cons look busted. Currently my fave. Mav R1 will definitely get, im tired of WGS. I might not have enough for the supports because I look forward to the new characters as well.

Yeah right now it's rough investing vertically without spending on topups, even with welkin+BP the rewards every patch are very low, next patch is dry af and we can only hope for the better for the next after it

This becomes very redundant once you put together 3 premium teams like you just showed in the screenshot

I have skipped every single 6.x character (will keep skipping them), have only one 4.x unit (Navia C6R3), and 3 5.x units (Chasca C3R1, Xilonen C4R1, Varesa C0R1). I have every single fearless and lunar IT, and I also have cleared dire previous season.

Each character is different in how valuable the con vs weapon is. I would say absolutely stick to only getting weapons for your main dps tho. Xilonen’s weapon isn’t gonna be as good as Mavs for instance.

As far as cons go tho, you might want to consider lauma’a c1 just to do more healing on that team. A con that takes a support and makes them a healer is usually something that is c6 like furina and xilonen. It being c1 is pretty wild cuz it’s a free spot on a team usually.

Need much more context. Many of these characters are better of with c1 depending on what weapon you have.

The problem with investing horizontally is most characters are mid. I invest horizontally by playing in two regions. I've noticed a lot of the "fun" characters I like and pull for in my alt region are pretty shit, or they get pretty shit quickly. Most of my characters in that region are c0r1. I would struggle my ass off to complete stuff in EU vs NA. I have Itto, Yoimiya, Childe, Cyno, Kokomi, and Chasca in my alt region and most are perma benched. Kokomi got played long enough for me to get Colombina.

In my main region (NA), I have many more c2r1 characters. That comes with its own drawbacks with some of the powercreep going on. I got c2r1 Arle and she promptly got crept by Mauvika. My c2r1 Ayaka is on the bench for c0r1 Skirk. My c2r1 Raiden rarely gets played either.

Support character constellations are a really good way to vertically invest while maximizing investment.

For instance, you could get Nefer C2R1, but if you want to play Lunar Charged or Lunar Cystallize Nefer can’t help you. However, if you get Columbina C2 she can play on every team and provides a Solid DPS boost to your on field DPS.

Almost all of my constellations are on my supports and I’ve cleared 36 star abyss and Fearless Stygian every time. Theater is a different animal, though I normally average 11 stars and sometimes get 12 in a good Theater.

I do go R1 for my DPS sometimes if the DPS difference is substantial. Also because I have substantially less 4/5 star DPS weapons compared to 3/4/5 star support weapons.

I get what you mean. C2 Columbina is very tempting tbh. But I thought she might be a jack of 3 lunar trades, she cant be at two places at a time. I will think about it though.

Yeah, she can only be in one place, but I like it because it keeps my options open. Especially for the Abyss and Stygian which doesn’t always align with my best team.

Also it combats power creep a bit, because teams generally only have one on field DPS, but multiple support characters. If my on field DPS gets directly creeped then that sucks. If my support gets directly creeped, well there’s still another slot for that support on the team.

If you’re set on vertically investing definitely invest in support constellations as they will last longer and have more useful teams.
