It is just me or is the grind in Genshin just satisfying?
I dunno i guess you cant really compare it to games like OSRS or Lost ark which are pretty darn annoying to grind sometimes... my point is though that something about the way genshin is is just so fkn... enjoyable. I just came on after grinding for like 3 hours straight. And the way the rewards pop up and sht is just sooooo satusfying 😩 its that and just other stuff which i cant exactly put a finger on... just ranting here and wondering what ya'll think. Absolutely addicted to the game rn

No it means you're unsatisfied with your garbage artifacts because on top of being energy system sewage it's also plagued by unfathomable amounts of terrible rng odds.
You would not be doing domains if you had good artifacts
I pop on a long podcast episode or YouTube video to play in the background and grind.
You younglings dont know the old days of maplestory grinding. Lv 200 was holy unemployment.

Good ol days...
fuck ludi maze pq though
I enjoyed the account building aspect of OSRS, since I built multiple accounts for PVP (pures, zerker, med levels, mains). Building characters in Genshin scratches the same itch, very enjoyable but way less time intensive.
The min-max aspect of MMORPGs is present in Genshin too, but manifests in the aspect of account planning (resin & pull spending). I have the goal of clearing Fearless Stygian, 36* Abyss and 12 Stella IT, so I pull and build characters that can finish endgame but I don't vertically invest in them further or spend tons of resin, I'd rather move onto the next project.
I was also paying like $40 a month in membership fees to be using multiple accounts in OSRS, who knew a gacha game like Genshin would be cheaper to play lol
No one in the world would say “man I worked so hard to get struck by lightning!” Other people would just say you got lucky, or in the case of the lightning, unlucky.
And as an adult with other things to do, the resin gating actually is nice so I don't feel like I have to constantly spend hours on the game. While the new patch updates give me the longer content I can play when I have the free time.
But I'm not the one who enjoys grinding hours on end, so other games never appealed to me to begin with.
Exploration %? Damage numbers?
I have no idea what were you doing because there is like 10m of gameplay per day after you've finished exploration
There was only one time when grinding was annoying as hell, and it was back in Inazuma when I had to farm specters. Ugh.
When I am not interested in grinding, I stop leveling characters at lvl 80. For the longest time my characters were capped before last ascension. Nowadays the grind is easier and I do take it to lvl 90.
But , I enjoy the satisfaction of triple crowning multiple characters at the same time while recording it and then adding music to make it into a video. It's a much harder grind but I enjoy the results enough. I have done videos with 1 char, 2 chars and 3 chars and I'm preparing for 4 at a time.
Choose your grind and Genshin grind is not the worst
More old school games like OSRS or Lost Ark have long form grind. They ask you to put in minutes to hours on end of content to get your reward - and since even in these games, the goal of the grind is still to just waste your time so that you come back to play more, the rewards aren't proportionately greater, so they don't feel as fun.
but ye i love 100% genshin maps its so fun
This is in terms of doing artifact routes, mining, and elite mob farming. Typical resinless shenanigans.
Controversial opinion, but i like playing the game myself. If grind is so boring make it interesting instead of slaping auto on it, turning the game into bitcoin miner. And overworld materials and money are completely useless.
And zzz just too short fights with too long loadings. It would greatly benefit from multiple waves.
I'd say WuWa is at the top in QoL. The grind does not take ages as echo farming genuinely feels better compared to artifact farming. Combat has a little more depth to it as well and everything feels less like a "chore" and instead feels like it is fun.
I have only played arknights endfield since recently but I don't think you must grind all too much for something comparable to artifacts or echo's. Then again, character building feels like it has less depth to it.
GFL2 has attachments you grind, keys you add to your characters for extra passives and since recently they gave us a system which gives us something comparable to artifacts through different gamemodes. The grind takes longer but feels less necessary. The gains between different grades artifacts are minimal but still satisfying.
Genshin though, has a little more annoyance to it. After every update once they give more features, the way to obtain them are so scarce that it feels like they mainly use them for moneygrabs. Like the artifact printer or feather items.
In the time it gave me enough to craft 1 artifact from the vial printer in genshin, WuWa gave me 50+ artifact main stat swap items. The ratio of rewards in genshin is just too poor and greedy to be satisfactory.
(All is my opinion, feel free to differ in opinions)
It takes like 5 minutes to spend resin regardless of what you spend it on.
Collecting flowers and enemy materials is fun but also doesnt take that long, especially if you use a character that shows the flowers on the map. The game is designed for you to play a little bit every day, there is really nothing to do for hours even if you want to after you're caught up.
Im convinced that people crying about "grinding" in genshin just have wrong mainstats and underleveled everything so its way harder than its meant to be for them. But they just assume thats how the game is designed, every ruin guard feeling like an elden ring boss.
