Worried about the possibility of a refund and being perma banned

My friend, who has access to my account has really kindly given me genesis crystals recently that I have now spent, and ive now recently found out about the possibility of them refunding and making my account get banned??? I'm super paranoid and worried and I don't know what to do in case this happens for any reason, is there anyway I can prevent it happening or at least prevent the ban (I literally have no money)

If they're your friend why would they refund it? If they do refund it, if your balance is in the negative, you can get banned within a week unless you can make up the difference and get primogems to zero or above.

They have to refund within an average of a month or two, so just save enough primos within that time frame to prevent a ban.

Then hope to gods that 1) they don't refund, or 2) you have enough primos still left from exploration + events + quests to quickly grind to make up the difference.

A: Are they really a friend if you're so convinced they'll do that to you?

B: Don't let other people have access to your account.

C: If someone does a refund, it's my understanding that Hoyo will deduct the corresponding amount of primogems (not genesis crystals) from the person's account and if it puts you in the negative, you get a certain amount of time to get out of it. So theoretically, you could grind primos to fill in the difference and not have to spend your own money.

they don't need access to your account to send you a gift. They can do it through a site. If they refund the transaction, you face a ban.

1 - If this person does this, they're not your friend. You shouldn't give them access to *anything* if yours, and should probably change passwords.

2 - If they bought from within the game, there's a chance of a charge back. If they bought from a third party like [Lootbar](https://lootbar.gg/a/Dlg90C), they can't charge back.

3 - If they do get them refunded, you will be given a certain amount of time to replenish the Genesis Crystals. Depending on how many they purchased, you may be in the hook. If you want to save your account and have *any* money, use [Lootbar](https://lootbar.gg/a/Dlg90C) or LDshop. The Genesis Crystals are cheaper, and you'll get a New User Discount. That's definitely not ideal, but you may have no other option.

4 - If you're not sure if they will refund or not, it's a good idea to try to earn *some* kind of money. If could happen up to 90 days after the purchase.

If they are a decent person they won't, other wise I doubt there's much you can do other than top up yourself. If you're that scared don't spend any primos for a while and also get a welkin to make sure you have enough primos just in case

It's a pretty common clause on anything where you have an individual account that you don't share your account credentials with another party.

Change your password now, and never share your account again. This is the **only** way to avoid this kind of anxiety trigger going forward. If your Genshin password is the same as any other password (for example, your *banking app*???), change those other passwords and *never* use the same password for multiple things again. Always use a unique random password for all accounts. You can make that easier by using a password manager.

You know that you have these mental health issues and past experiences. It would have been better to learn this lesson after your first such experience, but it’s never too late. Save yourself the trouble and anxiety.

The fact that you’re even asking this is because you simply do not trust your “friend”. Listen to these feelings and let them guide you.

You’ll be ok, just don’t repeat past mistakes going forward.

I don’t have any bad past experiences with this kind of thing, it’s more not being able to trust friends I thought I could. They’ve had my account for a while and I do trust them I just physically can’t help but worry and. I just wanted to know if there was anything I could do incase this does happen

That really doesn’t change anything about my advice. You simply *need* to practice strong OpSec (operational security) online - we **ALL** do. Too much of our lives and identities are on line now, and hackers are always getting better. Shit will really hit the fan when AGI hits, because they will likely be able to hack better than the best humans. Start being careful now, or it’s too late.

Is there any reason why you suspect your friend would refund it? If there really is a possibility you'll either need to prepare the money to top up the primos you spent, or grind for it in game if you have areas unexplored.

To be clear: did you find out that a refunded purchase will make you go into negative primos? Or did your friend say they’re going to refund the purchase?

Because if it’s the latter, find the money to make up the difference.

If it’s the former, which is what it sounds like, why worry? If your friend gave you them willingly why would they refund it?

This is a BIG reason why sharing your account info is against Hoyo's terms of service. As soon as you do, Hoyo assumes no blame for whatever might happen.

As long as you stay on good terms with your friend, it's probably not a big deal, but if you ever have a falling out and they decide to get spiteful, you could be in trouble.

I think there's a time limit on how long someone has to ask for a refund. If your friend gives you Genesis Crystals and you don't spend them for a month, you're probably fine.

Bear in mind that harboring suspicion about your friend isn't too healthy, either, unless they've done something to deserve it.

never accept free crystals from someone. If someone gives them to you, don't spend them, at least not for a long time. If they chargeback, hoyo will take back the primos and put you in negative if you spent them already. If you haven't spent them, they just take it back. If you spent it, you have a week to farm up enough to be positive again or you get banned.

Your friend should not give you crystals if he can't afford to.
