Did you try the crab with a neuv furina esco skirk team?
I feel that would be slightly faster because you can nuke skirk when it goes down
Not as comparable but I did mine with this team on fearless with 104s clear. No cons, only r1 on skirk and r3 sacJade on Neuv

I have c5 skirk and it was slower. Most of the damage comes from little crabs hitting the main crab. Skirk didnt do anything.

Skirk nuke + 5NA twice helped me trickle down on the hp when it's down even if it's just for 10s. Most of the does indeed come from Neuv hitting smol crabs. I even put my Esco of instructors for the em because Neuv vapes every 3rd hit on them

i thought the crabs do the damage dealt to them and not hp%, shouldn't you skirk burst the crabs?

The small crabs deal part of the total damage the they took (60% of the Hydro and 10% of other types of damage) to the boss when they collide with it, capped at 15% of the boss Max HP. While you do want to kill lots of crabs with Hydro, you still want to hit the boss directly with your highest dps during that 10s window, no matter what the type of the element you use.
