And Zhongli expects a fellow archon to be serious. Like one time (first time I think) Venti came to Liyue without a notice, Zhongli thought something serious is going on and was ready to help. But Venti just came to have a drink.
Zhongli isn’t used to that at all. All of his friends are immortal and no one acts like that.

Mavuika is not an immortal, she very young and human. And has common things like drinking (even pranking) with Venti. Mavuika will get along with other archons too btw, she can be serious when she needs to be, Venti “rarely” does that.
Zhongli and other immortals are very respectful and serious when they talk. Even when are casual and joking around, they do it respectfully. Look at how Zhongli and other adepti acts.
Tsaritsa doesn’t hate everyone, know indications about that. Her relationship with Archons are only known about Venti and Zhongli. She doesn’t get along with Venti and he pulled some pranks on her before I think.
With Zhongli it’s literally the opposite. They literally made a deal and Zhongli says for any contract you need trust and respect. He won’t make such a big deal with someone who hates him.

Every story about the two indicate they’re very comfortable with one another, especially since they’re the only two OG archons left

Exactly, the both of them are probably also a bit too busy with their daily lives, so they barely have the time to catch up, even though you can feel how caring they are for one another.
I hope we get more events with the Archons meeting to do dumb stuff later down the line, especially now that the lore presentation is starting to speed up. If impossible to gather all of them, just the two of them goofing around would already be cool enough.

It’s clear it was friendly banter at that event but even when they were alone, they just went separate ways, wasn’t exactly how would you do with a “close” friend.
Zhongli actually lot more friendly and open with his adepti friends. He clearly enjoys spending times with other adepti and they are all a certain way. Venti is literally the opposite. He could technically be fine with both ways but it’s not usual for anyone, for “close” friends to be vastly different.
So they have a good relationship, with Venti sometimes annoying Zhongli but definitely a friendly and allied one. But they aren’t besties.
