From what I understand from the trailers and all, I felt like they are in the enemy status. Am I wrong?

They all have been allied and aided the protagonist so far. So the only one who seems to be a antagonist role is asmoday, or the shade of space.
Alzusand2026-01-28 05:03
Even that antagonistic role is now debatable. because if asmoday hadnt sealed and sent the traveler into the future teyvat wouldve been destroyed by this point or at the very least millions would be dead.
K_o_n_e_k_o2026-01-28 05:06
i wonder if the shades are the one who put the heavanly pricipals to "sleep"
Alzusand2026-01-28 05:42
the more we learn about te cataclysm of khaenriah the more its clear it was a more massive fuck up than it seemed at first.
the archons and the bulk of humanity took care of the monsters overruning the zone.
the shades took care of the taint in the souls of the khaenriahns and the travelers themselves (probably to have them help at a later date)
phanes / heavenly principles probably tanked the bulk of the abyssal corruption so it wouldnt expand and that knocked them out until they manage to purify or get it out of their body.

>if asmoday hadnt sealed and sent the traveler into the future teyvat wouldve been destroyed
Why ?
Alzusand2026-01-28 10:30
we were key in saving all nations visited and teyvat as a whole in natlan.
TailorUnlikely99802026-01-28 10:55
I kind of disagree, the nations could have solved everything on their own imo. As for Natlan's WQ, we don't know what'd happen if we never found the Little One back then. But even if we go by your theory, I don't see why'd justify what Asmoday did , if anything it's even worse for her cause instead of doing something on her own (presuming that the gods knew of all the dangers), she put the MC into impossible situation and forced them to do the shade's job.
Zeek0_2452026-01-28 12:26
Saved Teyvat from Rene
TailorUnlikely99802026-01-28 12:40
Do you truly believe that no else could stop him ?
Purifier1452026-01-28 07:04
Well Ronova is more of a neutral figure I'd say. Since she still wanted to take her "price" by killing Mavuika which Cap took instead, so I imagine The Traveler would be pretty iffy with her. The Traveler has also met a lot of immortality curse victims like Cap or Chlothar that they'd be a little annoyed about. I'm also unsure if they'd be chill with Rhinedottir even if she made Albedo.
Istaroth is still fine though.
Artistic_Cable62182026-01-28 08:16
Istaroth take her price too. It’s officially what Venty use her power and it’s cost his time. That why he always sleep. As Ronova said, this is a rule
K_o_n_e_k_o2026-01-28 14:07
I mean, that didn't actually directly affect the traveler. It was more of an interaction between mauvika and ronova
IllustratorLast12812026-01-28 07:06
Istaroth kinda fucked with us too in a space this with you but naberius/rhinedottir and ronova haven't been antagonistic to the main character yet atleast.
notthatjaded2026-01-28 03:39
Eh. It's complicated.
Outside-Cookie43092026-01-28 03:40
They are unknmown standing as of now bcz for traveller sibling they are yet to have talk with them and u can talk it out with traveller and thine as already helped traveller through albedo so... And in natlan they don't hate shade of death they are just like how a normal human would see a god seeing them in awe
refance2026-01-28 03:40
Not yet but kinda, since the traveler goal is to find Sibling and resume their travel and right now the main obstacle is the Heavenly Principles
LostMyZone2026-01-28 03:49
They don't want to resume their travels.
Both Travelers have already declared that they feel that Teyvat is their new home. But the part about wanting to reunite again is still true.
During their reunion in Natlan, Abyss sibling says that Khaneri'ah is their new home. And Traveler on the moon said that Teyvat is their new home.
Riersa2026-01-28 03:42
Other than Asmoday none of them really interact much with traveler. Ronova just fulfil her end of the contract, Istaroth help planting the sacred sakura and sending the key back in time, Naberius doesn't have any direct involvement so far.
magnidwarf19002026-01-28 03:50
Not really
HansFactory2026-01-28 05:22
Why did I see the Gif in my mind?
Low_Artist_76632026-01-28 03:51
I mean, we had multiple indirect interactions with Gold.
corecenite2026-01-28 03:51
yesn't lol
PaulStarhaven2026-01-28 03:54
Unclear. Asmoday is an enemy for causing Traveler to be stranded and sealed, but Traveler has found a new home thanks to it and it's been awhile. Naberius and Istaroth have not been met directly, but Traveler has heard how Istaroth has helped several characters, so she's on a more positive standing. Ronova was met when she was upholding the rules of the deal, but they didn't really talk to each other or be particularly hostile, so neutral on that.
Neospartan_1172026-01-28 04:07
Traveler knows Asmoday, but doesn't know she's one of the shades. Due to her actions during the Khaenri'ahn Cataclysm Enemy.
Traveler knows Ronova, hasn't interacted directly with her but has seen Mavuika and Capitano interact with her. I'd say Traveler would consider her neutral.
Traveler knows of Istaroth, but hasn't interacted with her at all. She's related to Venti who should probably have some sort of communication with her. Unknown ally.
Traveler knows of Rhinedottir and Naberius, but hasn't interacted with either of them at all. At most Traveler has seen Rhinedottir's Dodoco. Now that Rhinedottir has eaten Naberius' heart I'm unsure how much communication Alice/Albedo has with her. Unknown neutral?
CapableTear17642026-01-28 04:27
Not really. Unless you consider the rift wounds enemies in which case Gold is indirectly an enemy. And if the other sinners are gonna be villains (I know Rerir got a "redemption" in an odd round about way), then ¾ of them are fine
ohoni2026-01-28 06:48
I don't think they actively hate the Traveler or oppose any of our current goals, but we may come into conflict over time. They will do what they will do.
Whilyam2026-01-28 07:02
Man, you'll run out of numbers if you try and count all the enemies that don't end up as enemies. Monsters? They're poor cursed people. Harbingers? Have a sad backstory. The one Archon who didn't ride our dick the instant we stepped foot in their land? Another sad anime backstory.
You know who are the irredeemable bastards of Genshin? A bitch who punted one twink once, and every same face NPC with the angry eyebrows. Those are the only ones. Everyone else will be converted no matter what we hear about them. All crimes will be forgiven because they are quirky about snacks or tea or something.
CryoStrange2026-01-28 08:01
Doesn't look like it. First of all they are all females, we never having a female antagonist because genshin is too pussy for that. Second Istaroth and others already help time to time. At max it could be Rhinedottir but the game wouldn't make her either. Only Pierro and the group have beef with them.
The_Cheeseman832026-01-28 10:40
We’ve already had female antagonists. A couple are even weekly bosses.
A_Cup_Of_Water4082026-01-28 16:40
Man, the eighth harbinger seat been empty for a bit, I wonder who sat on it /s
Impossible_Lock11722026-01-28 11:18
None of them are true antagonists in the real sense. Ronova and Asmoday have been against the traveler in the past but they’re not against any of their core values(if the traveler has any stable ones). I think for a fact Istaroth wont be one, and perhaps Rhinedottir will be one. But the shades are not the most significant enemy anyway.
DarkAlatreon2026-01-28 11:41
I mean, if the Ship = HP theory is true, then they are all our biggest allies. Jury's out on Asmoday, dunno if she went rogue or if she wanted to hold the siblings on Teyvat because it was the only safe enough place for them.
suzumaki7422026-01-28 11:56
We have to take a neutral stance for the shades currently....
No idea about what Naberius did other than creating life.
Istaroth is the reason why the sibling left Khaenriah during its greatest crisis but she also gave Venti some of her powers to protect Mondstadt who eventually became the Anemo archon and traveler's friend.
Ronova tried to take Mavuika's life and took Capitano's instead but she is also the reason why Natlan survived the abyssal invasion for so many years by helping create the Night Kingdom and preventing death
Asmoday is the only one who actively fought the traveler but the reasons for doing so are not yet known fully...
Tough-Guidance-75032026-01-28 13:22
We are only neutral with them atm. The traveler will keep their distance and be vigilant about them but not outright be hostile immediately unless provoke.
PapaGrinch2026-01-28 16:35
Until they take a clear antagonistic stance towards the Traveler, they won't be considered enemies.
Neospanner2026-01-28 17:08
In addition to "find my twin", the Traveler's mission at the start of the game is to find the Unknown God. It's why the Traveler wants to meet each Archon - to see if they are, in fact, the Unknown God (or maybe have some info about her).
It's quite likely that the Traveler considers Asmoday at least potentially an enemy, She DID attack the Traveler and their twin without provocation (from the Traveler's point of view, at least).
At this point, though, I don't think that the Traveler knows or suspects that Asmoday is one of Ronova's peers. The Traveler is pretty indifferent to Ronova - sure, Traveler's probably not thrilled that she wanted to claim Mavuika's life, but apparently that was a deal that Mavuika had struck herself, so it was kinda hard to argue that Ronova was acting unreasonably. Especially since that deal saved so many lives.
Interactions with Istaroth have been less direct, but the Traveler has seen the results of her meddling, and those seem to be generally helpful.
I don't think Traveler has any opinions at all on Naberius, but might have a few about Rheindottir.
MaChao202026-01-28 19:42
IMO they’re not antagonistic towards our protagonist. They were still simply doing their roles and sometimes helped other characters that have/will interact with our MC. Ronova and Istaroth are the most notable examples of this.
We don’t fully know what the Heavenly Principles’ role in the MC’s POV, but some descriptions show that they may be on the MC’s side for the most part.
