Interesting, I wonder why they didn't get credited on the video itself.
Outside-Cookie43092026-01-28 05:52
They aren't doing for free so technically as genshin never credits any creators in other animations it would be unfair to credit for one studio where others also do the same plus they are not needed to credit anyone its part of the agreement most likely only rarely singer or voice actor gets credited Rarely...
notthatjaded2026-01-28 05:57
Then my question stands as, "if they're working with another studio, why isn't that studio getting credited?" for any of their videos where they do this because otherwise it looks like Hoyo is the one doing the animation work, especially since already know they do have a studio of their own.
Outside-Cookie43092026-01-28 06:00
In many works they have worked with outer studios as well but never credits like no voice acting company is credited but they are outsourced heck they rarely credit hoyo mix they have whole diff acc for that branch of company they are not bound to credit that is why they don't unless its a major video like genshin anime or genshin anniv vids they never credits other studios which work on animation out of hoyo
notthatjaded2026-01-28 06:08
But they *could* and I was just wondering *why they don't*. Which I realize that us, as consumers and not employees of Hoyoverse, will likely not know without Hoyo coming out and explaining it. But it seems strange to me is all.
They may not credit the voice studios, but the VAs are known (for the major characters at least) and credited and those are the ones doing the work, not the studios who are just the middlemen.
And they do credit Hoyo-Mix for the music. It's literally on the album covers. Does it show on every video of all types? No, but it's known that Hoyo-Mix is a branch of Hoyoverse so it's not really the same thing as not crediting an animation studio that makes a whole trailer for you.
It just seems weird to me. That's all I was expressing.
accelas2026-01-28 06:20
by industry standard I'd assume.
Atomic_Slasher2026-01-28 06:28
It's all agreed in contract mostly.
Able_Importance19642026-01-28 06:35
It's something that's pretty common in Industry-
For example- most popular celebs like Sabrina carpenter just write and sing their song- ( even here 2 or more song writers are involved in shaping the lyrics ), the music, the beats everything is done by someone in shadow but gets paid. But only the person getting major credits is Sabrina.
It was a shocker to me, but yeah unless there is a credit roll you cannot see them !
Like do you see the motion capture artists ? Cuz they do the most defining animation for a character in major games.
So it's not just hoyoverse.
Due-Memory-69572026-01-28 07:27
You got it the other way around, one needs a reason to do something, not doing is the default.
YasieSC2026-01-28 08:51
It's not that deep most of the time it entirely depends on contracts if the studio get credited or not.for an example a studio can demand to get credited therefore free advertisment for them but offer a cheaper price for the client ,but if a client doesn't want to credit them studio can demand a higher price
there's even a higher level than this they can even sign NDAs and ask studio to never announce they were part of it in that case studios can demand even higher paycheck.
If a studio values money over free advertising that's entirely their choice.in this case it looks like middle of the road contract where studio get to claim that they worked on a hoyo project publicly which probably includes listing hoyo in their clientele and stuff.

well think about every single ad or commercial you ever saw in your life.
How often do the actual creators get credited? This happens so much invisibly that most ppl don’t even know. This is not a Hoyo specific thing.
Usually the creators sign contracts with the company they are working with and those creators may even be under a completely different company.
Take Nintendo for example. I know someone who makes Nintendo ads (not all of them ofc, only specific games). But she works at a completely different company. Nintendo pays her company to make those ads/videos. Then her company pays her.
And both her company and herself never got credited for all those ads that were made.
So many companies do this. Most people just don’t know about it.
focushafnium2026-01-28 06:05
It is common practice for commercial work, all depends on the contract. Check any video ads, posters, signage, logos, etc. Most don't have credits.
lenky0412026-01-28 11:31
Well because Hoyo bought the right of that video ?
They spend extra money to buy the right so it is their
Based on the contract that they sign
If they want a credit contract sure but they would definitely get less money out of that video
It's common sense

The actual creator always retains the right of attribution. Author's moral rights are not transferable and don't expire.
Koanos2026-01-28 05:54
Who is Fliip? And why didn't anyone pin their comment?
brliron2026-01-28 11:38
I don't think I've ever seen a pinned comment on a Hoyo video. They just don't do that.
Own_Pie_33612026-01-28 11:54
Did they disclose it in any other way if it was actually a collaboration
brliron2026-01-28 12:01
I don't think Hoyo said anything about it.
TehEpicGuy1012026-01-28 05:56
For reference, Fliiip Design was also in charge of the [teaser trailer](https://youtu.be/eP9NZFD86b4) for Mizuki. Needless to say, they make some excellent stuff.
silispap2026-01-28 08:47
Oh wow. That's top 5 teasers for me. Incredible work
unidentified52026-01-28 06:04
They have been collaborating several times in the past. Mizuki teaser, Citlali anecdote, Skirk teaser.
I think pretty much all studios that collaborated with Genshin are FLiiiP (Zibai, Mizuki, Citlali, Skirk teaser), A-1 Pictures (Skirk trailer), Ufotable (Genshin Anime), and their own Genshin animation studio (Arle, Mavuika, Skirk, Capitano, God's limit, and some character anecdotes).

This trailer was fantastic, reminded me of the Princess Kaguya Ghibli movie.
PhilledZone2026-01-28 13:29
Only a matter of time until they do a trailer with dillongoo
IngwiePhoenix2026-01-28 15:00
I'mma fliip a table if I loose another 50/50...

Better animation than any movie nominated for best animated feature for the Oscars this year.
