they just had to give her something unique to her and she would have been useful to this day. like if they just give her a small amount of cryo res shred she would become a budget Skirk buffer if you don't have all of her needed 5 stars. her kit right now is just so awkward because she's neither main or sub DPS, she's just Aloy, that's it, that's her niche, that she's Aloy. the problem with her specficily is that it isn't forseaable that she will ever be a part of the Hexeriei buffs, so she will just be useless forever

Aloy and Skirk came from another world, but aren't. So being a descender holds some special meaning outside of being from another world.

Take a look at UNIX's legal case when who own who was quite complicated, or gnu emacs who until today someone still trying to stir problems by saying that app is fork from somewhere

As someone who has played Horizon Zero Dawn, Aloy really could have been the very first PHEC character of the game and I'm a little sad she wasn't. I know they weren't ever gonna go all out in designing a collab character that, if memory serves, they were pretty much forced to make, but Aloy's main feat in Horizon was being able to utilize different kinds of elemental arrows, so translating something like that into a PHEC unit would've been really cool to see.

It's obviously a result of a deal with Sony from when they were unsure of success. Getting on the platform and help with marketing. Coincidentally close to the new Horizon game release. The collab will at least help with crossing audiences.

If the theory in the Archon Quest is true, it would make sense why they chose Horizon Zero Dawn to collab with since the story is about Humans vs Ai, who also happens to have an AI called GAIA that terraforms Earth and restore life after the plague wiped out the biosphere (fuck Ted Faro).
Fun Fact: GAIA also has sub-functions that helped the environment and one of them is called AETHER whose job is to detoxifying Earth's ravaged atmosphere, just a coincidence and in no way related to Genshin obviously, I just think its neat thing to find.

In HZD the original humans are all wiped out by war during Operation Endurance, which was used to cover the real human survival initiative: Project Zero Dawn. The new humans are reborn into earth unaware of the old human world's downfall.
Teyvat had an existing civilization that was subjugated from a war of conquest and their environment was deemed incompatible with the AI's specification for a new world.
