Just realised how similar they look

i was reading through my quest items and for a moment i didn’t even realise that rene’s notebook looks identical to sandrone’s . just thought it was a nice touch , and got me thinking if this implies something else .

I would believe your "asset reuse" bullshit talk if Rene and Sandrone had nothing to do with eachother, but they are linked through the Narzissenkrauz Ordo, you kurobot!

tyjz73_2026-01-28 12:38

And the notebook was given to her by Alain.

-Illuzio-2026-01-28 13:01

Do you know how many games reuse assets?

bruhhh_bama2026-01-28 13:10

i also think its just a reused asset but you sound like a dork 😭 like why are u calling someone a shill for noticing that 2 items that are related use the same icon

zMaximumz2026-01-28 13:14

low tier bait

ejsks2026-01-28 13:15

Ah yes, because every other game always creates unique assets for every item.

Can't wait for you to be the first one complaining about the game size being bloated from all the assets like a brainlet.

Moomin_12912026-01-28 13:33

A little harsh; asset reuse sometimes comes across as lazy, but in this case it is clearly being employed to draw parallels between two notebooks that almost certainly share a common source.

Why create two seperate icons to represent books that likely look identical in lore?

Spoopy_Kirei2026-01-28 16:56

Also asset reuse for small stuff like this is a good thing. The game file size is not getting any smaller

marmasake2026-01-28 13:48

Just a lore skipper yapping, nothing to see here

The_Ninja_Allay2026-01-28 14:08

Is that you, varka?

xXx_Neko_xXx2026-01-28 14:27

do you know how many books in real life look the same? and wait till I tell you they are all reusing the paper asset for their pages THE HORROR

Kishi_yu2026-01-28 14:42

Was it worth all these downvotes?

7adzius2026-01-28 13:54

Genshins reuses a ton of assets, it was a bit annoying when i finally decided to go through all of them and figure out which ones were tied to hidden quests

-outrageous2026-01-28 14:33

I'm pretty sure this isn't reusing assets and it's intentional..

Ze_AwEsOmE_Hobo2026-01-28 15:55

It can be both.

TheUnhingedAranara2026-01-28 14:13

A little question, who is Rene? I'm assuming it's Mary-Ann but I'm not so sure ._.

HollyBlocky2026-01-28 14:47

Rene was the other researcher at the Narzissenkreuz Ordo, next to Sandrone's creator, Alain Guillotin, who meddled with stuff. He's the Hydro Tulpa you fight at the end of that quest line which was his way of transcending morality in order to survive the cataclysm predicted in the Doomsday Clock at the Ordo.

TheUnhingedAranara2026-01-29 07:18

Ohhh, I should search up that quest sometime

unw20002026-01-29 07:42

There's three different quests you need to do before you get to that

There's one in Elynas (Ancient Colours), one south of the Court of Fontaine (Ann of Narzissenkreuz) and one in Meropide (Unfinished Comedy)

Facaddd122026-01-29 09:07

How long would you say it would take to finish both unfinished comedy and ancient colours

unw20002026-01-29 11:31

Former should be 2-3 hours, latter should be 1-1.5

downvoted for wanting to learn 💔

Templar2k72026-01-28 18:43

Yup not everyone has done all the world quests and you would only know this if you had.

TheUnhingedAranara2026-01-29 07:18

I've did quite a lot but Rene is a first

Nuka-Crapola2026-01-29 11:23

Sandrone explicitly names Rene as a friend-turned-rival to Alain, though, so mixing him up with Mary-Ann specifically is a “didn’t read at all” kind of error.

Upvoting because why tf are people downvoting you for asking a question

selleviyuri2026-01-28 14:30

Dawg it's just a reused asset

Zekaiane2026-01-29 07:27

It's pretty intentional and has a narrative purpose
