I’m no longer F2P!!
I have a job now.
I still remember bashing anyone who payed for stuff on this game, alas when I tasted even a little bit of power had I been corrupted.

Just keep enough to live decently
On a serious note though, you do you. For my self tho, I can't personally justify spending real money on digital stuff that you can't physically touch or own, for a live game that won't be around forever
The idea (at least what I've interpreted from their comment) is that once Genshin reaches EOS, there's a chance that access to the game will be cut off for everyone. This is quite common for gacha games (typically on mobile, from my experience) that have reached EOS. Some will create offline versions or other ways to preserve the game so players can still continue playing, but there is no guarantee that Genshin will (at least none that I have heard of).
It's not the same as other games that you can access whenever you want after you've purchased it once.
2 - Use something like [Lootbar](https://lootbar.gg/a/Dlg90C) or LDshop if you are going to spend responsibly. It's a good savings, and can help you squeeze a little more.
3 - Welkins, Battlepasses, and Double Top-ups are pretty reasonable spends. Be careful when buying anything beyond the initial topup, and don't ever do a Resin Refresh unless you're just flush with disposable income.
Hoyoverse customer service won't intervene if there's an issue, but it's just a service that buys from the official store in different regions. You could do the same with a VPN and some time. It's just *much* easier to use a service.
I've been using Lootbar for years with zero problems, and have done a couple of deals on LDshop when they have a great coupon available.
The difference for me is the overall, long-term investment. Instead of a stack of old games collecting dust, I’m still playing some of the same characters with the same weapons from 5 years ago. Like personally, I love Legend of Zelda, but starting TotK after BotW with just 3 hearts and no equipment again just felt awful to me.
Considering the game itself is free, I don’t really mind using the money id spend on new games to invest in one that I already enjoy.
It also feels really, really nice after a couple of years once the investment has really started to build up!
I get hours and hours of enjoyment out of genshin for essentially free. Spending 5 on a welkin per month or a bit of a top up here or there is cheap for a hobby.
It's just microtransactions are looked at negatively compared to other things.
...right, there's another thing to talk to my therapist about.
But again I doubt I will spend money on this (and any game for that matter) game even if I have a well paying job.
Good on you tho dude! As other people have said already just make sure you have enough to live comfortably and you'll be fine.
I guiltlessly spend whatever I please on this game, because when I was a child I wanted so badly to spend real money on video games but my parents wouldn’t let me.
Every time I buy primos/crystals I consider it feeding my inner child.
I fukn lold
Welcome to the club.
which took me 3 months to achieve and 5 years later my welkin is still ongoing
I never felt the need to whale because there's only a few characters I really like, some of them straight up have bad constellations and others I can save up for their c2 or even c6 as long as I'm patient enough
Is this my main game of play?
How many hours?
Will it get old?
If it does, would it be worth it?
If I do pay, would I regret not paying now?
And that's why I got perfect cell and SpongeBob on Fortnite but I haven't played since December

Some people chose to spend on stuff they like, example a more expensive car, or branded apparel, more expensive restaurants and such.
Same as spending on a game.
