Am I missing something or...
Have people just forgotten about the Unknown God at the start of the game, was it retconned, or we know what they are and I missed that part?
People don't talk about her when talking about HP, Descenders, false sky, the AI theory, what's going on?
Do we simply know too little of her? At very least, we know she has some connection to the false sky because of the black/red cubes.

To the Traveler and everyone else in game though, she is still unknown. She's the Shade with the least information available right now. Even the Hymns of the Far North book which talks about HP, Nibelung, and the shades, her part is just completely missing.

Conversely, Asmoday isn't really discussed by name in the game anywhere that I recall so it's quite possible that other people just don't know of her...or that the Traveler would want to find her, specifically. The Traveler doesn't know that's who stopped them, after all. I suppose it might behoove them to actually *describe* her in detail to the various in-the-know people they meet but there's a lot of things that the Traveler could do to get more information that they don't because the story would wrap up too quickly probably.
In-game, the hints have been a little more subtle.
As for why she's not talked about specifically - well, we don't know what roles she may or may not have played in all of this. We're learning a lot about the Heavenly Principles and what they've done, but we don't know how much of that was HP alone, HP along with the Shades, or the Shades working under orders from HP.
For actual interference in the world of Teyvat (which the Heavenly Principles seems to have generally frowned upon), Ronova the Shade of Death did a lot for the people of Natlan, allowing for the construction of the Night Kingdom and agreeing to Xbalanque's bargain in establishing the Ode of Resurrection.
Istaraoth the Shade of Time has had her fingers in a few places, as well. She helped the people of Enkanomiya, assisted Ei and Makoto in planting the Sacred Sakura, and helped the Abyss Twin recover memories of their sibling during the Khaenri'ah disaster.
In the case of Naberius the Shade of Life, all we know is that she created Egeria to oversee the Primordial Sea after the Hydro Sovereign died and that somehow her heart was found by Rheindottir, who then devoured it and became the new Shade of Life.
Asmoday the Shade of Space, we know she did SOMETHING at Khaenri'ah, with her cubes apparently destroying the city while the Abyss Sibling looked on in despair (the We Will Be Reunited video), and her teleport portals opened up at the end of "A Space and Time For You". And each time the false sky has been ripped open, the borders had a similar appearance to her cubes. For the most part, though, she hasn't interacted with the world to the same degree as the other Shades - or at least, we haven't found any such records.
