About Columbina (pt 2)
Hello to those who may have read my old post from a few weeks ago going over Columbina's and the Harbingers "Sanitization" I've given it alot more research and thought and I've actually cracked the code for Columbina has alot of "hate" behind her atleast from a story stand point.
Her story and role aren't bad from a blank slate perspective but to long time genshin fans and veterans they notice a subtle rewrite that hapoened before Natlan. Its why Natlan felt off and why Nod Krai had to be written to fill in the plot holes before snez. Ofc with the several rumors that Columbina was supposed to appear in Natlan instead of Nod krai.
Calling out the elephant in the room Obviously Scara's and Childe's voicelines about Columbina is truly what hyped her up aswell as her atmosphere and general uneasiness in the winter night lazzo's trailer. She was painted as weird and dangerous and we were told by Scara to stay away but how he described her was that she would use psychological attacks to trick the traveler. In actuality she's only number 3 as a consolation prize for being the moon maiden and she's only socially awkward because she's basically and alien that's trying to find a home. Not bad lore on paper but the main issue is this:
The community isnt dissapointed that she's not like the popular Angel headcanon they're dissapointed she's just another "waifu" that gets extremely friendly with the traveler. And I'm not gonna sugar coat it she is meant to be sold to the people who see themselves as the traveler so they can suio themselves with her and Im not going to pretend they haven't done this with other characters aswell. She went from being a potentially interesting harbinger like Arlecchino to "The cute alien moon girl who's the traveler 5th girlfriend" any uniqueness she had prior to Nod krai is gone because of how dumb down she became upon her release. She went from a potentially interesting antagonist or villain to another waifu that the Traveler almost immediately became friends with because despite them basically having 0 personality they were the only character capable of helping her.
Please feel free to discuss this in the comments below but not being negative I understand many will disagree and that's fine I didnt make this post to get people to riot Hoyo or anything I still love Columbina creepy or not but much like with Natlan theres an itching feeling that this wasn't what we weren't meant to have in the first place.
TLDR; The general consensus I've come to is that she lacks uniqueness as she can be put inside of a bubble when she couldve been much more same goes for Sandrone (Boy was I pissed when I thoight she was going to just be brown Citlal)

Negative reactions are warranted and deserved, and I can comment my annoyance if I want to, **and there is nothing you can do about it**
Just admit it, you made headcanons for yourself or took someone elses headcanons as canon and you're disappointed that the actual canon doesn't fit it. You can make all the conspiracy theories about "rewrites" or whatever but I assure you, she was always gonna be a "waifu" character. This IS a gacha game after all.
Also your idea of what's "uniqiue" isn't universal. Columbina is a very interesting character and her being a "waifu" doesn't take away from that. You just don't like it and that's fine, but let's stop with the idea that your preferences are "better" or more "unique" than others.
Also this post isnt advocating for hate on Bina as I did say I still like her just wish her writing was different not once did I say you cant like her or her writing. Yall are so quick to come on the offensive when this post was talking about a general observation. Please just be civil that is all I was asking when people commented

Reply after this if you want to but like fr nothing I said warranted this type of response and its rather toxic when I didn't say she was bad I just said two things 1. I see why people think she was rewritten and why they see her as a waifu bait character 2. I think she wouldve been interesting as an Antagonist or villain vs being om the good side immediately. You can have your opnions but theres a difference between having your opnions and discussing it and having your opinions and feeling the need to explain why mine is stupid. Cause nowhere in my post did I say Canon Columbina was bad idc about "implications of what I said"
forgetting the fact that Traveler needed like 3 meetings to even consider themselves not hostile towards Columbina. it's not like other gacha where first meeting already made female characters fell in love or something

You can't notice something that doesn't exist. If you say people notice rewrite, that mean you claim there is a rewrite.
A. trying to present it as fact is kinda bringing down your argument and
B. Defaulting to “She’s bad becuz waifu” is a horrible argument and only serves to show your bias.
also, you might want to check what “general consensus” means.
B. I dont really have bias. Bias is saying she should've been written as a villain which is different from saying she would've been interesting as a villain imo isnt the same saying that. Also yeah considering how pissed people are I think i got that definition mixed up
Your 2nd and 3rd paragraphs directly state she is rewritten, and your 4th paragraph delves into the waifu part.
Apologies for assuming your bias, however your talking points are very similar to a certain group of pests in the fandom that has a deep bias against “waifu” characters or any character they presume to be so.
I believe you may have a misinformed view on the situation as most players, especially veteran players who have seen previous foreshadowing in the story, do not believe in this particular rewrite.
