I just finished Nod Krai Act 8, and honestly one of the biggest highlights of the Archon Quest for me was **Wanderer**.

His growth as a person is so clear that I couldn’t help but feel like a proud parent watching him. I remember the bratty little menace Scara used to be, and while I always sympathized with his tragic backstory, I could never excuse his behavior. He hurt so many people, destroyed families, and was fueled by pure hatred toward Ei. Tragic? Yes. Justified? No.

After his Sumeru quest and the events where he showed up as “Hat Guy” (PS: that joke was funny at first, but now it’s just old. Hoyo should really just call him Wanderer in voicelines, though I lowkey hope it’s because they’re saving his real name for his second quest, so “Hat Guy” is just a placeholder), we slowly started seeing him change. He began letting go of his hatred, opening up, actually living instead of just existing.

And in Nod Krai? That growth is undeniable.

He still has the sass, but his temper isn’t volcanic anymore, and he genuinely cares about people now. Durin is the clearest example, no spoilers, but our baby dragon had some very “naive” moments: old Scara would’ve been brutal with him. Wanderer, though? He acted more like an annoyed big brother than a cruel menace.

Same with his relationship with the Traveler. Old Scara and even early Wanderer would NEVER admit he likes or sees Traveler as a friend. But in Nod Krai he shows it. He trusts the Traveler. He cares. And he doesn’t even hide it that much anymore.

In short: our sassy brat grew up and I couldn’t be prouder 🥹
