An important detail many people missed in the 6.3 AQs *spoilers*
This is more of a summary post to condense the info. A more detailed analysis of their dialogue can be found here and is the person who made the discovery between the 2 personalities:

I have their permission to make this. I think it's a fun detail? We even fought both of them! Though without realizing it. Growth Dottore is also the one who chips Wanderer on the shoulder.

Let people theorise and stop being an a-hole for once. If it's false then it's false.
Or is Zandik plagiarizing another bad guy this time?
Genshin players when dottore is pure evil: Ewww it's dottore get the fuck out of my screen!!! I want this guy to die and never be playable how dare they make someone irredeemable!!!
Genshin players when rhinedoitter is worse than dottore: Omg my beautiful queen!!!! Hoyooo give me booba NOW!!!! Rhinedoitter didn't do ANYTHING wrong!!!
Also funny thing is, he is not 100% pure evil. Amoral is more fitting. He doesnt hurt people for funsies.
But Dottore didn't have a single humanizing emotional moment. Just narcissistic evil. That's fine, though. People can just appreciate that he is a cool looking antagonist who's fun to hate.
Tbh, pure evil villains are just exasperating to watch as writers can just give them so leeway to do whatever they won't. Because it's more 'realistic' for bad things to happen, right?
Bro if you're that bored of the game just get a script to do it. What's the point of your comment anyway?
Also the area for body swap. WOW
Also, i'm gonna add my 2 cents on top of this: during trilune-dottore sequences during the big dialogue part, whenever possible, the camera is ALWAYS set at an angle so that trilune-dottore stands above, either by actual physical displacement or so that in the scene, Doctore is above, almost like the traveler is, in fact, revering a god.
But this essentially stops once non-trilune dottore shows up later, after the air-swimming scene. I thought that it was simply because during that part they decided to use another cinematic language, as you can see dottore often with his back facing the traveler, or the camera visualizing dottore from Behind. But there's more that i had failed to catch up with.
There wasn't anything in the clause that said he could create another afterwards, only that it's extremely costly and time-consuming. I wouldn't be surprised if the Trilune Authority helped to expedite the process in some way though.
I'm with you on this, if you can make Segments without the Authority, shouldn't the Authority make being able to create those Segments with ease?
If you can't, is it because of time? But Dottore explicitly stated he has trouble with controlling time, what did he test beforehand?
also Nahida never said he couldn't make new ones
1. Dottore simply made more segments after eliminating all segments since the deal never said he couldn't make more after destroying them.
2. The Dottore that made the deal in Sumeru was a segment himself, so he himself was not included to be destroyed. And obviously this would not have affected the original Dottore either. After destroying all the segments, the deal-segment and the original Dottore were the only ones left. So it's likely that the real Dottore holds the Trilune at first meanwhile the segment was the one without in this dialogue, the one that fought us at the end of the Archon Quest and the one that was killed by Columbina.
1. Create more
2. Didnt actually kill all of them
3. Trilune gave him authority over life, death, time, space and reason, he can create a new clone with those powers

# 7.0 STRONG RETURN!
We meet the Dottorest Dottore?
And the simplest explaination for why it sometimes disappears is that it would be a distracting big ass mechanical moon floating in the frame.
He was negotiating with Traveler. I think since it looked like he might be unsuccessful he was trying to use 2 personalities to get through.
Some say he got a flair of arrogance after the deal with Nahida and thought he could make a deal with the Traveler the same way. He explains during the convo that Descenders are interesting to him.
Edit: Plus "it's better to flee than to surrender" definitely sounds like it's coming from someone who always wants a body double around to let him flee.
He was literally experimenting with that exact thing.
>He's literally a god who can alter reality to his wishes
He can't, or he wouldn't need experiments. He also said he was still getting used to the time powers.
>why pull Houdini during combat when he can do everything at the snap of his fingers?
Because he can't do everything at the snap of his fingers. Remember that time where he snapped his fingers, tore open the sky, raised a hand shaped platform and was defeated by the power of friendship? Yeah.
>And the simplest explaination for why it sometimes disappears is that it would be a distracting big ass mechanical moon floating in the frame.
Now that actually makes sense.
Also, remember the burning Irminsul in the Sumeru Teaser? Dead Dottore is probably gonna burn Irminsul for the inside out.
He must have considered the possibility of losing against the Traveler / Nod Krai alliance, so he probably had one or two contingency plans.
He correctly deducted they were trying to bring Columbina back after all
However the bodyswapping thing... exactly what would he gain by swapping this quickly? He already worked with more than 2 segments before Sumeru,so swapping bodies is nothing new. Switching moods is nothing new either (no character is ever going to feel JUST happy or JUST angry, even if happy/angry is their main and most used mood).
The experiment with animals is a bit different. It was a human swapping body with an animal (different species) rather than human swapping it's body with something that was made to function like a human body and mostly re-created to function as closly to human body as possible. It looks like he is working up to something big,so he is testing out some theories he has,but I doubt he would make himself part of the experiment (if it went wrong he could drop dead). So he tries it out on unknowing subjects for now. It also dosen't make sense for him to multitask when he is facing a Descender that has the will to change the bloody world. ALL of his focus is needed on the fight itself, not the experiment itself. He can check the results of experiment later.
As for the experiment... maybe he is gathering data so he can (in the future) swap his body with a higher-level being (a God,Shade, Non-human being) to avoid death or gain more power). Or even become an animal and be able to spy on people from close-up, without being detected.
Swapping his mind between Segments. Would be insanely useful for Omega to preserve himself, in particular his knowledge of everything he achieved in Nod-Krai. This would allow him to survive Columbina's Super Friendship Moonray Pewwwwwwww, at the cost of a segment after mind swapping. Which is probably no big deal, because he had sacrificed segments in the past.
After the Traveler backstabs him, he predicts that they will try to take one of the marrows.
And how did Dottore get the other self to cooperate. I thought they hated each other.
I think he'd be willing to create more segments, if he thought they'd prove useful to him.
As someone else mentioned, the doylist reason might be to not make a scene visually cluttered. And the watsonian reason might be that he just put it away, like minimizing a tab, whenever he wanted to.
Just saying, even Capitano fans didn't have this much copium.
Coupled with that misty cloud effect during Columbina's family line, I think we were stuck in a dream from that point on.
Rewatch Sumeru: the Dottore who leaves on the boat has a subtly different voice which isn't as heavy. The Dottore who stays at the end has that bass growl again.
