"Oh no Paimon, I think we need to spend FIVE NIGHTS in this place"

Why do people keep implying Five Nights at Freddy’s? It’s very clearly a Fallout vault reference.
This is coming from someone who has played through multiple games from both series.
Cheese-Buns2026-01-31 10:45
Oh yeah no I 100% knew it was a Fallout reference from the bunker and to the unique aesthetic of the place, just that this map and screen specifically reminded me of FNAF
GettingWokeUp2026-01-31 10:46
Okay the screen right there is definitely valid
Healthy_Agent_1002026-01-31 11:29
I swear that map is the same as the underground pizzeria in secret of the mimic
PaleontologistNo76982026-01-31 14:45
Or the one map from Sister Location. The big salon seems like Baby scenario
LameSillyHero2026-01-31 13:22
Now that it has been said I can see some reference of FNAF or least some likeness to it.
Malixhous2026-01-31 13:33
Just imagine the Rifthounds as a Foxy army and we're set.
Ok_Astronomer_65012026-01-31 12:57
It gave me more SCP vibes mixed with heaven's gate (SCP cuz of the different tiered access cards, and heaven's gate cuz it was a doomsday bunker where the leader ended up killing everyone).
thecatandthependulum2026-01-31 14:40
Yeah it was obviously Fallout, though it gave me mad System Shock vibes too.
00110001_001100102026-01-31 18:24
It's probably the vague layout of "three entrances, one on each side, one straight ahead, and a monitor in the center" that's evocative of FNAF 2
TaleEmbarrassed84922026-01-31 11:30
Dottore as William Afton
gentle_fatalism2026-01-31 12:05
Columbina as Elizabeth Afton (after Dottore made that comment about once seeing her like family before his intentions got clearer)
Luster-Purge2026-01-31 18:40
Dottore only made that comment after, ironically, thinking that she held the same objective attitude he did towards treating relationships with others as purely transactional and disposable.
Menination2026-01-31 11:32
Five Nights at freznov's
Cul_what2026-01-31 11:48
"The abyss creatures do get a bit quirky at night"
The_Starfallen2026-01-31 12:25
More like Fallout & Resident evil mashup
AverageA2Enjoyer2026-01-31 18:35
Funnily reminds me of soma, when the robots are going crazy.
Orangelemonyyyy2026-01-31 12:32
This was such a good world quest. I played this in bed at 11pm, fully in the dark. The vibes are immaculate.
Cheese-Buns2026-01-31 12:39
Fr, not having ANY npc to interact with definitely helped set the mood dramatically. I love how we just mainly SEE the outcome of this doomed paradise and only through computer logs and old recordings do we get any dialogue as puzzle pieces as to what happened
Seivy2026-01-31 16:40
I think the lack of weapon makes it stands out the most. You know you can't just use your usual bineffa rotation and genocide the room
karillith2026-01-31 19:30
I mean realsing I had to use hydro traveller and nefer against Rerir in the AQ was peak terror as far as I'm concerned.
Seivy2026-01-31 19:34
they wanted to make sure we could listen to all of his speech during the battle. And boy how did we had time...
Nuka-Crapola2026-01-31 21:00
Fun fact, they’ve now given us a special “lunar blessing” that refills Verdant Dew for that fight, because Hydro Traveler is truly irredeemable.
Watashig2026-01-31 21:59
I like how Hydro Traveler’s kit just became Aino’s kit for the story. Definitely much more usable.
The_New_Overlord2026-01-31 15:07
Same, I love the inclusion of more light-horror quests in the game. In a world like Genshin's where there's a lot of light hearted, cute stuff, it makes the horror quests stand out so much more, and really land. This quest and the Nothing Passage quest are some of my faves in the whole game.
Rain-Maker332026-01-31 20:05
Yeah. I also remember the one with the creepy girl from the Chasm.
ComposedOfStardust2026-01-31 20:25
Tsurumi and Enkanomiya are far more terrifying than Nothing Passage imo. And Chasm Delvers questline still haunts me to this day with Zhiqiong's fate. Return to Sender is definitely up there as one of their best quests period though
The_New_Overlord2026-02-01 00:59
Those quests were great too. I feel like the horror elements got toed down quite a bit after Inazuma ended, so it's nice to see them making a comeback.
Ballad_132026-01-31 18:39
I did too!!
Not having any weapon either, really felt vurnurable
MisfitActual-2026-01-31 14:32
I thought this was just gonna be quest but man that was so fun. I played this quest at 3AM though so 😭
[deleted]2026-01-31 14:37
It's fall out reference I see genshin Impact
bunh3s2026-01-31 17:12
absolute cinema.
no quest will ever leave such an impression on me for a long time in the future. genuine jumpscares and creepy vibes.
at one point i wondered if some deformed entity will also jump scare us and well, close enough.
every log was so well written and horrifying. genshin's side quests will always be top tier.
Luster-Purge2026-01-31 18:41
I think the side quests succeed because they DON'T have to be restrained to following a plot line like the archon quests. As long as it doesn't contradict anything, they're free to do whatever.
Cocoatrice2026-01-31 19:32
It's *not* FNaF reference.
Sachin9512026-01-31 19:56
Get your pip-boy's ready
Lonely-JAR2026-01-31 20:32
It was so funny to see people freaking out on the interactive map lol they did good with the atmosphere
Glittering-Ad-16262026-01-31 23:27
“Don’t worry about the cleaning bots, they get a little quirky at night”
fakeforsureYT2026-01-31 23:59
I hate horror games and this quest made me jump out of my seat so much for just branches moving and robots!! I loved this quest tho
