Another one is that Natlan cast has less of a "found family" feeling compared to Sumeru as they never had much on screen interaction, and Mavuika being a boring Archon only because she never had any plot twists like Raiden, Nahida, or Furina.
As a region Natlan may have suffered from Hoyo's decision of the hints they released about Natlan prior to the game in the comic and the Travail trailer.

You are vastly overestimating how invested the average player is and vastly underestimating how many players are casuals. If you got rid of everything except endgame, Genshin would reach EoS within 2-3 months. You would instantly lose everybody who doesn't care about endgame at all, which is most likely around 2/3 of all players. Then you would also lose a lot of the players who regularly clear endgame but prefer the other content. Finally, you would also lose a portion of the whales because it's been proven that a common reason people buy microtransactions is to feel superior to people who don't.

I liked Natlan's story more than Fontaine. Natlan had it's issues, but the whole thing felt like one big goofy Sentai reference and I loved it. I also guessed the big plot twist for Fontaine almost immediately, so it probably didn't hit the same for me.

The sibling subplot where the Traveler tries to find them is the most poorly-handled part of the game's storyline, which is ironic for me because that's where our story started. The reason people usually throw for this (sibling told us to explore Teyvat) is just an excuse for poorly managing the story.
I'm way past that suspension of disbelief in thinking that the Traveler actually misses their sibling when they do the bare minimum to try and find or even go out of their way to talk to them. We're basically waiting for apples to fall from the tree instead of climbing to get them. Literally every time we talk to our sibling was because they were the ones reaching out to us or some fortuitous event lands both siblings in the same place.

They tried to excuse it early game with the explanation that Traveler "forgot their past" and are slowly regaining memories, but the story truly does not write them like siblings who were inseparable and travelled together. At this point I have to believe the Traveler is in a perma indifferent state towards their sibling or they were never truly siblings to begin with since there's zero desperation to track them down and have a proper conversation. I see Paimon more as our sibling as the story goes on.

Paimon gets so much unnecessary hate for reacting to things more realistically for someone that is foreign to those things. She is a mix of an extrovert and someone who doesnt know how to respond to socially weird situations and it kinda makes her dialogue and things she say make a lot more sense.
She tried the charcoal cake and said it looks burnt, people cried about it for weeks and called her racist when ITS LITEARLLY CHARCOAL BAKED CAKE OFC SHE WILL REACT LIKE THAT. All the nations have a better story than fontaine.
Fontaine single saving grace is arc 5 beyond that nearly every other act is irrelevant to overarching plot.
Act 1 is dedicated to saving lyney arse....guess what, bro let's himself and siblings get thrown in jail I'm act 3 and 4 on arle orders.
Act 2 is an excuse to through childe in jail for a crime he can clearly not commit due to being too young and the actual crime itself is so utterly removed from the plot beyond the idea the criminal used the sea water to dissolve people. You had the entire justice system drop brain cells so childe could be thrown in jail and then disappear to fight the whale.
Act 3 and 4 is spent looming for childe which again serves no actual purpose because we neither find him and in the end we just need to call neuvi to plug the leak
Only worthwile info is furina is a human.
Come Act 5 you could have cut off literally every other Act save for a few details and the story would be unchanged.
At least in every other nations it felt like there was some form of build up that didn't shoot other aspects in the foot to tell the story.

act 1 and 2 also introduced us to the whole concept of fontainians being oceanids shaped into humans by primodial water and the fact that they will die if exposed to primodial water and they also involve childe into the whole thing and give him a proper justification to end up in the primodial water and fighting the narwhal, act 3 and 4 primarily deal with the how the prophecy is about to happen very soon, childe's dissappearance both of which relate to the narwhal and they also set up the mystery of why furina has no divinity, all of this is resolved in act 5, act 5 only really works because of the set up from the previous acts let it.

Both the summer event before and the poetry event alongside it are what introduced the concepts of human oceanids.
And while childe disappearance is good the work done for it didn't warrant two entire acts in the prison.
There was much ways to execute his imprisonment.
Him being thrown in jail is also not needed since there are other spots with primodial sea water that could have been accessed.
Also furina divinity is literally brought up end of act 4 by the knave.
You could have spent an entire act having the traveler learn that from properly investigating fontaine in act 3 and then deal with childe stuff in act 4.

the summer event and waterborn poetry are different as both cases have oceanids living as humans not oceanids turned into humans, the spring fairy is still a immortal oceanid who just happened to have taken a human form and the same goes for alice's friend, the summer event does elude to the plot of fontaine just like every other summer before had loose connections to the plot of the upcoming region but those situations are still extremely different from what happened in fontaine + they're also time limited events.
the childe imprisonment wasn't really the entire point of the meropide arc it was supposed to also set up the primodial sea water thing but yeah the execution on the meropide stuff was questionable at best.
him being thrown into jail was kind of part of focalors plan to get some extra time and if had been done some other way it would have just ended up feeling like fontaine just got very lucky + when the investigation finally goes wrong the way it did in act 4 it would be harder to justify neuvillette, clorinde and writhseley's involvement in stopping the whole thing as they wouldn't have a reason to investigate childe's dissappearance since it wasn't really related to them in any way were he not jailed and it would feel dumb if they just appeared out of nowhere to stop it.
furina's lack of divinity is kinda hard to find for the traveller as they would have no reason to suspect furina in the first place and hence would not investigate her, also the part where they try to find the reason behind furina's lack of divinity was act 5 so they can't do that before either as that directly leads to the the entire plan being revealed.

The fact they were depicted as evil in the beginning doesn't always equate to them being evil in the end. I feel like they are the anti-hero vibe. Doing things to better teyvat in a not so orthodox way, and in getting to know them more you can begin to see they aren't as evil as previously perceived. Alot of people forget that signora was trying to implode inazuma. And with harbingers having their own ways of doing things that makes her an evil character as well as dotore. The fact they are against the heavenly principles should tell you it's not necessarily a three way battle, but more of a two against one with the two stepping on each other's shoes to make things happen. That's just my take anyways.

Genshin's story and narrative It's too tied to the fact that it's a gacha game, otherwise, the story and its seriousness would be MUCH greater. The official manga is a great example of this, in my opinion. Of course, it's not HxH or FMA, but it takes the character tropes and atmosphere more seriously. Probably how much I dislike Fontaine.
Story wise: first 2 acts are great, 3/4 are the worst AQs in the game, I liked the Neuvillette stuff in act 5 but the rest fell flat for me, I didn’t care about Furina at all (I still don’t fully get why she didn’t click with me honestly) and I hate the narwhal as a final boss.
Character wise it’s easily the most forgettable nation, I only really like Navia and Neuvillette.
Exploration wise I also really dislike it. The above water stuff is the most visually boring region in the game, compare it to damn near anywhere in NK and it is night and day. The under water stuff is about as good as it can be but it’s still incredibly boring, you don’t even play as your characters for most of the region.

Lore located in in-game items like books and documents or NPC dialogue in various locations is fine for world building and all, but if it's not being mentioned during story quests then it's not important at that moment. Or to put it bluntly, I don't care for it.
Like if mentions about Moon Goddesses in books were already present in books during Genshin's first year, it didn't matter to me at that moment until its the center of the story like in Nod-Krai

I really don't think most dark skin characters are mid (or even that bad for that matter) due to China racism. They're mostly just a victim of their circumstances.
Xinyan was literally one of the first 4 Stars they added to the gane and the first new character to have a kit based around split scaling. It was a new formula that ultimately showed that it couldn't quite get off the ground, even when put on a Limited 5 Star like Albedo who for the longest time was the closest thing to a Standard 5 Star character that wasn't a Standard 5 Star character. Plus her being a Physical DPS isn't a problem inherent to her since other Physical DPSes like pre Hexerei Razor, Freminet and even their 5 Star version Eula are all in the same boat with the same problems since Physical is heavily neglected across the board.
Candace is only seen as bad because for the longest time, she was one of only THREE Hydro four stars- a healer who didn't even fit Candace's role and her only actual competition was 'Mr. 5 Star-in-Disguise' Xingqiu, who had long since cemented himself as a stable of the Sub-DPS category fue to him being WAY stronger than he should have been. Of course she was going to fall short of the mark because she actually embodies a 4 Star character whereas Xingqiu is punching waaaaay above his pay grade. And even with the introduction of Dahlia, he only serves as Budget support for Skirk and even then, he's pretty iffy on that front since again, you could just take Xingqiu as a second Hydro Sub-DPS instead.
Cyno's not even that bad of a DPS, he's just got some kinks in his kit that you need to work around to get his full potential. Sure, he's not as simplistic to build or play as other DPSes but people interpret that as him being completely worthless when in truth, he CAN get the job done and function well in a team if you give him the time of day.
Dehya is the one character I won't make a case for because she got absolutely fucked over and I wish whoever was in charge of that kit design would take a hard look in the mirror over how balderdash that entire ordeal was.
Sethos serves a pretty decent DPS for a 4 Star. He's just in the same vein as Gaming where as a 4 Star DPS, he's heavily reliant on cons to reach his full potential and will still fall short of 5 Star DPSes anyway. Plus one of his best weapons is a 3 Star Weapon (Slingshot) that most people even early game likely have lying around and he only really needs EM, Crit and a few Dendro party members to get the most out of him so he's pretty simple to build and use.
Iansan is one of the best supports in the whole game and is one of THE primary picks for Varesa who is sitting amidst the top of DPSes right now.
And Ifa, yeah, he's definitely more niche. Pretty sure he's a Driver for Ororon teams and on that front he's...eh. I do concede that there aren't many circumstances in the game where you'll WANT to use him but at least he got an indirect buff through the introduction of Lunar so he's at least capable of functioning with higher level Sub-DPSes like Ineffa. That's something I guess. To me at least, if you really like and want to use Ororon, then you may as well go for Ifa too. He's at least an option since his kit was made to go with Ororon.

We need more unfriendly allies/rivals playable characters because most of time is always a Fest of Cuddles.
Sandrone was a big fresh air; Wanderer would be that kind of character to, but we need someone that isn't treated as a cute cub (directly by Nahida or indirectly by Durin).

I MISS the harder puzzles and having to LOOK for chests and oculus. That was what got me into the game. I HATE the movement away from exploration and puzzle solving in Genshin (and WuWa). The world is so beautiful and the music is amazing — I wanna enjoy it while hunting my primos and finding obscure lore.

Alice’s design sucks. She would look better with a real hat AND genshin has an utterly ridiculous obsession with coochie flaps for clothes.
Take a good look at good portion of the female roster and you’ll notice a common trend with exposed shoulders and back, and a coochie flap. This has been a problem since Inazuma.
Listen, I don’t care HOW characters are dressed they can dress how they want, but it’s getting boring when a new character follows the exact same design philosophy as so many other characters where its either shoulders+back, coochie flap, or both.

The game is unfriendly to the new players.
It needs new character banner system.
It would have been nice to be able to enjoy characters from Liyue, Inazuma or Sumeru when I was in that land, and not have to explore Natlan and Nod Krai, that I didn't reach yet, to build my characters from the current banners.

As a region Natlan may have suffered from Hoyo's decision of the hints they released about Natlan prior to the game in the comic and the Travail trailer.

Not Exploration, Not the Story, Just the Endgame. Nothing else matters but damage. You could get rid of everything but the Endgame Modes and it wouldn't matter.
I'm way past that suspension of disbelief in thinking that the Traveler actually misses their sibling when they do the bare minimum to try and find or even go out of their way to talk to them. We're basically waiting for apples to fall from the tree instead of climbing to get them. Literally every time we talk to our sibling was because they were the ones reaching out to us or some fortuitous event lands both siblings in the same place.

Fontaine single saving grace is arc 5 beyond that nearly every other act is irrelevant to overarching plot.
Act 1 is dedicated to saving lyney arse....guess what, bro let's himself and siblings get thrown in jail I'm act 3 and 4 on arle orders.
Act 2 is an excuse to through childe in jail for a crime he can clearly not commit due to being too young and the actual crime itself is so utterly removed from the plot beyond the idea the criminal used the sea water to dissolve people. You had the entire justice system drop brain cells so childe could be thrown in jail and then disappear to fight the whale.
Act 3 and 4 is spent looming for childe which again serves no actual purpose because we neither find him and in the end we just need to call neuvi to plug the leak
Only worthwile info is furina is a human.
Come Act 5 you could have cut off literally every other Act save for a few details and the story would be unchanged.
At least in every other nations it felt like there was some form of build up that didn't shoot other aspects in the foot to tell the story.
Both the summer event before and the poetry event alongside it are what introduced the concepts of human oceanids.
And while childe disappearance is good the work done for it didn't warrant two entire acts in the prison.
There was much ways to execute his imprisonment.
Him being thrown in jail is also not needed since there are other spots with primodial sea water that could have been accessed.
Also furina divinity is literally brought up end of act 4 by the knave.
You could have spent an entire act having the traveler learn that from properly investigating fontaine in act 3 and then deal with childe stuff in act 4.
the childe imprisonment wasn't really the entire point of the meropide arc it was supposed to also set up the primodial sea water thing but yeah the execution on the meropide stuff was questionable at best.
him being thrown into jail was kind of part of focalors plan to get some extra time and if had been done some other way it would have just ended up feeling like fontaine just got very lucky + when the investigation finally goes wrong the way it did in act 4 it would be harder to justify neuvillette, clorinde and writhseley's involvement in stopping the whole thing as they wouldn't have a reason to investigate childe's dissappearance since it wasn't really related to them in any way were he not jailed and it would feel dumb if they just appeared out of nowhere to stop it.
furina's lack of divinity is kinda hard to find for the traveller as they would have no reason to suspect furina in the first place and hence would not investigate her, also the part where they try to find the reason behind furina's lack of divinity was act 5 so they can't do that before either as that directly leads to the the entire plan being revealed.
The outrage over Columbina drawing Aether on the moon was actual insanity.
Natlan designs are good
While Fontaine gave me an emotional rollercoaster, I actually preferred Natlan more because the WQ >>>> Fontaine AQ, as a lore enjoyer
I actually love long story segment in special domains. I've played old JRPGs with 30 minutes cutscenes and hours-long segment with no save inbetween
"History will say they were good friends" became a meme because this keeps happening all the time and especially in gacha games that have to keep up the illusion that the MC could date anyone

She's loves her job, love her people, is loved by her people and can actually back up the title of God with actual power.
Story wise: first 2 acts are great, 3/4 are the worst AQs in the game, I liked the Neuvillette stuff in act 5 but the rest fell flat for me, I didn’t care about Furina at all (I still don’t fully get why she didn’t click with me honestly) and I hate the narwhal as a final boss.
Character wise it’s easily the most forgettable nation, I only really like Navia and Neuvillette.
Exploration wise I also really dislike it. The above water stuff is the most visually boring region in the game, compare it to damn near anywhere in NK and it is night and day. The under water stuff is about as good as it can be but it’s still incredibly boring, you don’t even play as your characters for most of the region.

When I started back in 2.0 Fontaine was the region I was most excited for and it really let me down, I don’t particularly care for any of it overall.
Like if mentions about Moon Goddesses in books were already present in books during Genshin's first year, it didn't matter to me at that moment until its the center of the story like in Nod-Krai
Xinyan was literally one of the first 4 Stars they added to the gane and the first new character to have a kit based around split scaling. It was a new formula that ultimately showed that it couldn't quite get off the ground, even when put on a Limited 5 Star like Albedo who for the longest time was the closest thing to a Standard 5 Star character that wasn't a Standard 5 Star character. Plus her being a Physical DPS isn't a problem inherent to her since other Physical DPSes like pre Hexerei Razor, Freminet and even their 5 Star version Eula are all in the same boat with the same problems since Physical is heavily neglected across the board.
Candace is only seen as bad because for the longest time, she was one of only THREE Hydro four stars- a healer who didn't even fit Candace's role and her only actual competition was 'Mr. 5 Star-in-Disguise' Xingqiu, who had long since cemented himself as a stable of the Sub-DPS category fue to him being WAY stronger than he should have been. Of course she was going to fall short of the mark because she actually embodies a 4 Star character whereas Xingqiu is punching waaaaay above his pay grade. And even with the introduction of Dahlia, he only serves as Budget support for Skirk and even then, he's pretty iffy on that front since again, you could just take Xingqiu as a second Hydro Sub-DPS instead.
Cyno's not even that bad of a DPS, he's just got some kinks in his kit that you need to work around to get his full potential. Sure, he's not as simplistic to build or play as other DPSes but people interpret that as him being completely worthless when in truth, he CAN get the job done and function well in a team if you give him the time of day.
Dehya is the one character I won't make a case for because she got absolutely fucked over and I wish whoever was in charge of that kit design would take a hard look in the mirror over how balderdash that entire ordeal was.
Sethos serves a pretty decent DPS for a 4 Star. He's just in the same vein as Gaming where as a 4 Star DPS, he's heavily reliant on cons to reach his full potential and will still fall short of 5 Star DPSes anyway. Plus one of his best weapons is a 3 Star Weapon (Slingshot) that most people even early game likely have lying around and he only really needs EM, Crit and a few Dendro party members to get the most out of him so he's pretty simple to build and use.
Iansan is one of the best supports in the whole game and is one of THE primary picks for Varesa who is sitting amidst the top of DPSes right now.
And Ifa, yeah, he's definitely more niche. Pretty sure he's a Driver for Ororon teams and on that front he's...eh. I do concede that there aren't many circumstances in the game where you'll WANT to use him but at least he got an indirect buff through the introduction of Lunar so he's at least capable of functioning with higher level Sub-DPSes like Ineffa. That's something I guess. To me at least, if you really like and want to use Ororon, then you may as well go for Ifa too. He's at least an option since his kit was made to go with Ororon.
Any DPS, and by any I mean Hydro Traveller and Dehya, can do well provided you build around them. If you can't, thats a skill issue
Where as Neuv can solo almost anything that isn't Hydro.
I still appreciate how hard they try to use stuff they already revealed.

I just cried everytime i saw references from the story and names from here :'). I feel very often that the story of my country is very ignored and it was a pleasure to feel that it was included a bit this time
And the landscapes, i was so scared that them were showing that part of the game as a destroyed land but instead they gave us amazing and beautiful places as out countries really are! Definetly they did it great
