Can I monetise my Genshin gameplay video on Youtube with only in-game audio???

As per the title, I would like to upload videos of my Genshin gameplay on Youtube only (no other platforms) and monetise them on Youtube.

However, I do not wish to put in additional music so the video will only consist of my gameplay (including my team composition, playstyle etc), the character's voices and combat sounds. I have also seen some creators do this (purely in-game audio, no additional audio like their voices or music).

I am aware that there has been a legal FAQ released in Hoyolab by the official Genshin Impact account, but it confuses me quite a bit and I am left with more questions than answers.

If anyone is willing to answer I would be most grateful.

There are many monetized vidoes which have nothing to do with Genshin and still use the Genshin OST. From Hoyo's perspective, you are doing free advertisement, which they allow. So you are fine.

But there has been the case, that malicous people claim the music for themselves which lead to demonetization. And I dont remember that Hoyo did anything about it.

The field for Genshin content creation is large and competitive. Without some “personality” (like the voice of the creator as they play), you will find it _very_ difficult to gain an audience and it’s already hard enough.

Like, some people like no-commentary playthroughs but there are plenty already in existence so what would yours bring to the table that will draw people?

So if you’re asking if it’s allowed, you ought to be fine. But will you make money? I wouldn’t hold my breath.

I mean I guess you can technically do that but the question is, why? There's already ton of genshin content creators but the reason why people watch some over the others is usually their commentary, their reactions to the story how they view some stuff etc.

When it comes to just recording the game and uploading it to youtube without adding any editing or your own voice or anything else, there's already channels like these so why would people watch your videos over other ones? Especially if u wanna put it behind paywall, people can watch those type of videos on other channels for free so what's the point?

I'm not saying this to discourage you from doing any sort of content creations but you have to kinda think, especially if you want to monetize it, why would someone want to watch your stuff?

It's allowed, and you CAN monetize it. however, if it's raw gameplay, i wouldn't expect it to be easy to gain a following let alone make money from it sicne there's nothing unique or particularly entertaining such as commentary that makes your content more worthy of viewers' times than all your other competition. if you were making these videos for fun then by all means go ahead, it's just that if you're making them to make actual money then i wouldn't get my hopes up.
