Unnecessary aversion to the more niche characters?
Quick explanation of what I mean in the title - I feel like many players act weird when someone tries to flex their numbers achieved with less popular characters.
Not so long ago I saw a few showcases(TikTok, X etc.) of chars like Yoimiya, Navia, Ganyu, Xiao and so on. Most of the comments consisted of stuff like "that's only possible because of supports", "wheelchair build" etc.
Yet I don't see such comments when it's Mavuika premium, Skirk premium, Nefer premium etc.
Why?

Despite the fact that this has caused massive powercreep and damaged the game overall.
And "wheelchair" means that the team without said "old damage dealer" would perform the same if not better due to the ability to add another support for wheelchair core characters who are strong on their own.
It's all because we have a strong powercreep and some players are unable to accept that not everyone wants to follow meta. It is what it is.
If you own a Bugatti and a Civic whoops your ass, you might feel a way.
I would rather play the companions I enjoy and fail, then pull for a meta unit just to get one or two pulls extra.
And if nothing else, there's a difference between an Aloy with Shenhe, Furina, Escoffier team and, idk, melt-plunge Kaveh with Bennett, Citlali, Xianyun team.
Wheelchaired means that your on fielder is doing less damage than each the off field DPSes **individually**. The only way to avoid being called wheelchaired is if you are a driver/enabler support, and doing something on field that other characters can’t do. For example, yes Raiden does “wheelchaired tier dmg”, but she restores the team’s energy and buffs their burst dmg while also doing decent personal dmg; she is still doing useful stuff even if her dmg is low. She certainly cannot be called the main DPS, but she is still a useful team member. Sucrose is also not being wheelchaired because she drives with VV swirl and buffs EM.
A main DPS is a character who does the most dmg on the team **individually**. This means that yes, a main DPS does NOT have to do over 50% of the team’s dmg, nor does it mean that the main DPS can’t be buffed by supports to do such dmg. This is most egregious when people call Flins a “wheelchair” (he is most certainly NOT being wheelchaired), just because he is reliant on Ineffa and he does less than 50% of the team’s dmg (he does slightly more than Ineffa at around 45%). He is still doing more dmg than Ineffa and Columbina (separately, not combined) and therefore, he is the main DPS.
A hypercarry is a **subset** of main DPS, who does more than 50% of the dmg on the team, again regardless of whether they need supports to do said dmg. Nefer is heavily reliant on Lauma for her dmg, BUT Lauma’s personal dmg is almost none compared to Nefer, who is doing well over 50% of the team’s dmg (it’s something like 70% or more). Mavuika is also a hypercarry.
Like how mono teams core is all 1 element, hyperbloom core being dendro hydro and electro, hypercarry core being 1 dps with 3 supports etc, etc.
Wheelchair is when 2 broken supports form together to make a lot of damage. Ex: columbina:ineffa or mavuika:citlali. But, they are not the team. They are just a core.
Although the aversion (well, not really aversion just people leaning towards meta characters) is there because of the oportunity cost. You only get so many pulls. If you get ganyu you cant get skirk and clear stuff with ease and feel strong. Its just the nature of gacha games.
But i guess i get it about wheelchair tho, if you put a character that does almost no damage in a wheelchair team and say "look, X character clears just fine" when they didnt even contribute much and if you used another character instead the damage would be far better thats kind of dishonest. But as long as you're honest about it its fine.
To answer that :
Mav/Skirk/Nefer are not wheelchaired in their BiS teams. They're hypercarries.
Yes they have good supports. But all things being equal, their performance with those supports are better than many dps using the same supports.
Also among the premium teams, Mav is more flexible compared to Flins/Nefer/Skirk since her next best team without a specific 5\* isn't >20% worse.
