Why we still don’t have an icon for Stygian Onslaught?
All 3 have similar blue colored icons and all of them are endgame modes. IT got this icon when it was first released from what I remember but SO doesn’t have one still.
Any reason for not having this? Feels random and weird to me.

edit: You can check the calendar at the end of the livestream.
And outbreak lasts for 10 days. So the time it is inactive is the first week, hence "almost the entire patch".
Hence while SO is opened, no event takes place during that week, while abyss and IT can take place along with other events
Stygian also doesn't give the same amount of exp or mora, nor does it give many fun stages.
Slop shouldn't be tolerated from a multi-billionaire company—it would cost them next to nothing to run an additional event during stygian's cycle.
It's 420 primos per normal event, always has been.
Better way to phrase it is "this is unenjoyable for me", don't generalise for everyone.
every time you read or hear someone's opinion, just assume that they meant to say "in my opinion" or "for me"
that is how opinions work, even when left unsaid! hope this helps
SO gives another players some form of fun that was missing: a challenge vs shill, many players do a lot of attempts trying to clear a stage because they're missing just a few seconds without shill and that makes them improve their gameplay a lot, others min-max their clear time just "for the love of the game" xD because honestly they don't need the dust of +Fearless, they're strong already
now u gonna anger the others haha
- Braindead easy fun horde slayer
- Scalable high difficulty combat content with optional, rewardless "whale tier" difficulty option
Stygian on the other hand:
- Has no horde gameplay whatsoever
- Is barely adjustable in difficulty, it goes from "clearable with Solo Amber blindfolded" to "clearable with Solo Amber with your eyes open" to "requires actual minmaxed builds" to "requires whaling" with nothing inbetween
- Has only three stages
- All stages are surgically tuned to shill new units/brick older ones in a very hostile way
- Has no trial characters that would provide a change of pace (try out a character you don't own, maybe decide to pull them on a rerun) and accessibility
- Has rewards for the higher difficulties rather than them being for the enjoyment of it. It's not even cosmetic ones like namecards, there's actual artifact reroll material behind Fearless and Menacing.
- Is the same format every single time with just the bosses changing and rarely any gimmicks - the ones that do exist are just remixes of existing boss mechanics (like the plunge boss)
And I'm probably missing some things because I frankly do not care to go that indepth in a random reddit reply.
SO is genuinely a downgrade to combat events, not even going into how they're now disincentivised to run any real combat events again because of repetition with SO, so we get more mindless slop minigames in the remaining slots. It's probably the worst thing to happen to limited content in the game.
While it is true that "usual combat events" didn't include challenges, a handful of the combat events in 5.x had extra challenges (do you guys remember that Little One namecard that you could get from clearing up to floor 20/adding up to 100 floors cleared, but whales could clear up to 25/add up to 125 floors cleared?), which was one of the reasons I came back and decided to stay (because it felt like they were finally applying the feedback from years ago).
Also notice, that Stygian Onslaught is opened from x to y day, like an event. It doesn't just refresh every month. Instead it starts week after new version is released and lasts... I don't really know how long. But it ends and you can't do it anymore. While you can do Imaginarium Theater the January 31st and then February 1st, without worrying that 31st is too late. I actually once did exactly this. Finished my Theater right before it ended and did next one next day. Stygian Onslaught has rules like any other event, not like end game mode.
The only way we can check how much currency we have in the teapot is by physically going there. It would have been nice to see a counter on the world map too.
If u don't want to cap out on 2400 currency (and buy weekly stuff), players need to visit the teapot 3 times a week.
There are so many decisions in the game that really makes me wonder if the devs even play their own game.
