I made a full-body design concept and (kinda) drip marketing for an original character!
**When life reaches its fateful end… legacy carries wisdoms past.**
*“When I thought I was the most assiduous client of Wanwen Bookhouse, in comes this young scholar and begins taking out the oldest, dustiest tomes I have ever seen from the bottom of the shelves!”*
*─ Words of Young Master Xingqiu, when asked who is the greatest bookworm of Liyue.*
Tobias has nurtured one distinctive dream. Though he is the son of a successful businesswoman and a kindhearted Millileth officer, his interests lie in analyzing all magical mystery and enchanting enigma.
For many years, his mother told him stories about the wondrous achievements of an outstanding mage living far away in her hometown… her sister. Stories of the aunt he never got to meet.
Her voyage to study magic, her prominence between her peers, the letters she exchanged with his mother, the love shared between them before parting ways… these retold memories about his elusive aunt inspired him to the core, giving him the drive to pursue a grand future in the mystic arts.
While his mother spends much of the day overseeing her trade business by the bustling docks and his father patrols the higher parts of Liyue Harbor, the aspiring magician takes his time delving into page after page of spellbinding lore.
If you happened to hear the noise of books hitting the floor as you look for your next read in Wanwen Bookhouse, you were probably next to a hurried Tobias, trying to carry as many ancient volumes as he can to the counter. After a moment, the sigh of a miffed Lady Jifang would arrive at your ears.
“I can help you carry those, kid,” she would say. “… long as you buy them.”
Every so often, neighbors of the Zhenbao household have been disturbed by the strangest phenomena: it could be their hairs standing up as they step through their corridors, a strange current of water coming through their front door, an eerie temperature drop as they lounge in their living room or maybe just the disrupting noise of an explosion. These events always brought them to the same source: an overeager Tobias, attempting a spell in his home with limited materials and knowledge.
“We understand he has lofty wishes… but he needs a teacher,” is what his parents have heard, after they enter the scene of another botched experiment.
Despite the occasional incidents, those who have met the novice student hold no ill intent against him. Tobias is noted to be polite, cordial and generous amongst children and adults alike. His studious behavior has garnered the positive attention of parents and if there is one person Liyue Harbor can count on to help with any task at hand, it is their soon-to-be enchanter.
In the past few weeks, a rumor took place between Tobias’ acquaintances. It took only a few days for it to be confirmed: Liyue’s future mage is preparing for a voyage to further his studies and pursue his ambition thoroughly. The destiny of his travel is mostly unknown, at the moment: some say his parents found a teacher for him, a more imaginative few tell he’s been contemplated by the Sumeru Akademiya, by some miracle.
Tobias and his parents have long known where he is going to. At last, the soon to be apprentice in the arcane arts is on his way to fulfill the fate he’s kept in his heart for many years. The road he will tread through shall lead him towards his desired, idolized master… his fabled aunt.
Where he’s headed to? What path he’s taking?
North. To the plains and onward.

His 1st passive would allow him to, when collecting a crystal shard, become infused with the element of the shard (justified in thr story as a simple magic technique he learned)'
His E allows him to create a geo construct called Crystal Bloom that deals AoE elemental dmg. When he's infused, he can transfer his infusion to the Bloom, making it deal damage of the element he was infused with.
His Q works similarly, but instead of a Bloom, it is a bigger construct called a Crystal Blossom, which remains on the field for a short period of time and deals damage on a large AoE (similar to Lisa or Aino's Burst). It can also change elements like the Bloom by the same method.
And here comes the support part: his 2nd passive. When he gets a Crystal shard, according to the type, a buff will become active for a certain amount of seconds for the active character.
For Pyro, it's extra atk
For Hydro, it's healing
For Electro, it's extra Energy
For Cryo, it's boosted Crit Rate
I even had some ideas for his cons, like one of them allowing more than one Crystal Bloom to be active on the field and another that also adds DMG% buff of the corresponding elemental type to the mix, whenever he gets infused with an element
