This is only my third lantern right so I might be wrong, but from what I remember of the Gaming and Lan Yan events, they made sense with little context and didn’t rely on major world state things. I was surprised to see that this year’s references the newest archon quest so much, and relies on an understanding of a major change to the world state (the real moon descending).

I’m just curious about what people think this does for new players? They either have to rush through 7 chapters of archon quests and catch up on 5 years of Genshin if they want to understand what’s going on, or play it and spoil a ton or just be confused. This seems like an odd choice esp. since lantern right is a good selling point to bring in new players.

What do people think about this?
