It is, the queen always starts on the same colour as itself. Since the squares are white and red it's logical to assume that red is taking the role of black on a typical chess board

Actually, we start out as white pieces. In traditional chess, there were originally white and red pieces, which were later replaced by white and black.
This is clearly visible by the cell the enemy king is on.
\- The kings stand opposite each other.
\- The king always stands on the cell of the opposite color.
The screenshot shows that the king is standing on a white cell, which confirms that it is a red king.
