[6.3 Story Quest SPOILERS]
And then, Celestia killed her as she stood up for her people in Lang-Gan. Though Istaroth, the ruler of Time broke her and hid one part of her soul "**Zizhu**" within the false moon as she kept granting wishes for her people in that form.
She's the one who we see in the previous welkin moon!
It's also the first time we see how 3 moons were in the sky before cataclysm.
ps: did i understood these right?

Just... DON'T DEFEND THE ABYSS. How many times does Phanes have to teach you this lesson old people?
Like someone else already said, it does half ass work.
Most of the time it is and leads to ruin, but not always.
It can be mastered and controlled without being corrupted by it, even if it's rare and hard to accomplish, and we have a literal playable character proving that in the form of Skirk (arguably abyss sibling too)
If Phanes understood that and trained and adapted to the abyssal power like Skirk did, they wouldn't have been crippled so hard after fighting Nibelung.
teyvat is a planet of the light realm its power its purely light realm power and the abyss is simply an anthitesis to it and every being within it with few exeptions,
its not wirth it to pursue when the power they already have at their disposal is already insanely powerfull too with way less side effects and destructive potential.
specially since we just saw dottore create an actual moon marrow just engineering maxxing with no abyss power at all.
That I agree with.
But it means Phanes reaction could have been more merciful, at least to the innocent who were just there and had nothing to do with it.
But even more importantly for Phanes himself, with some adaptation to abyssal power they would not have been crippled like that by Nibelung, so their fanatical aversion to the abyss ultimately came to bite them in the ass.
Nibelung got himself screwed over when he got it and even rerir mentioned the "voices" talking to him.
So yeah you need to be way more carefull with it than with the other powers.
Although i dont know if there is potential to get "forbidden knowledge" from the abyss or you soecifically have to fuck up extra hard because if it is possible you can as a single person put irminsul and the leylines at risk and that would be bad bad.
Instead of this whole theatric show of sacrifice, just ask Istaroth for some time magic to cart people out of there. Evasive > Defensive. Same amount of instances of time magic, save herself, probably save more people, definitely better reputation.
We even get Istaroth talking behind it to Zibai now? So it seems the Shades do also dislike how things are run
The nails may have been a bit more understandable that time when they were used to cleanse the abyss after the war (but like you said still a very ruthless, imprecise and inefficient approach at solving the problem, just like when they cursed all Khaenri'ahns after the cataclysm instead of helping the good ones fight the abyss off and rebuild), but it doesn't change all the times they used it on innocents before.
it would be the equivalent of humanity researching nuclear energy and then a god you never saw descending and nuking your entire country without you knowing what happened.
humanity's reasearch of the abyss and how to counter it is complete dogshit due to it specially since we have seen many people wield it without severe side effects.
the only place that arguably deserved to be nailed due to the magnitude of the fuck up was khaneriah but considering what happened I think the heavenly principles probably took the hit themselves (the bulk of the abyssal energy) so teyvat didnt die right there and the shades had to handle the rest and couldnt use the nails.
because compared to the current fate of the people of khaenriah the nail wouldve been mercy.
I mean it's to be expected the Moons are ignorant, they did not care about the Dragons even when Xiuhcoatl the Pyro Dragon Sovereign tried to contact them multiple times.
>At first, they came to her as ceaseless nightmares, countless dreams that came and went endlessly in stifling, unyielding cycles.
>The seeds of life, born not of natural evolution, fell from silver branches into the ruins of the desolate city.
>Where featherless creatures, walking upright, enjoyed untold wisdom and the blessings it bestowed.
>Then came endless greed and selfish desire, masked behind noble-sounding names.
>And from these followed hatred, curses, betrayal, strife, plunder, slaughter, and kin turning against kin.
>The cities scattered across the land pursued their own paths of good and evil while the divine envoys stood by in silence, watching all unfold.
>Until the kings of the lands dared test the eternal heavens.
>And only then did the great towers fall in flame, burying the cries of the slaves.
This is the text that's being cited. The idea seems to originate from interpreting this as being about Hyperborea, seeing the mention of slaves, and then, after an unspoken assumption that slaves couldn't have existed before (for seemingly no reason), concluding that it *has* to be Seutervoinen's fault.
Even if we ignore the completely unfounded and baseless assumption that slaves couldn't have existed prior, this excerpt is actually not even talking about Hyperborea. It's about the unified civilization at large and the cycle of rise and fall of civilization that existed under Celestia's original world order. In fact, the next paragraph of this weapon's lore establishes Hyperborea as something that happened *afterwards* timeline-wise.
>Like a fleeting shadow vanishing in a single breath, **a dreamless dream stretched across a thousand years and then a thousand more.** \[emphasis added\]
>A mountain of crowns in a secret place, beneath a withered tree, forgotten by all.
>But sometimes even the divine plan falters, and the **golden city** \[emphasis added\] that rose from the earth...
>Could not satiate the hearts of mortals, aflame with desire.
>Hearts swollen with ambition, drawn to the vacant throne of the world, longing to shatter the boundaries between man and god.
>But like all tragic illusions, that boundless Elysium would crumble.
>The draconic kings of flame plunged into the dark abyss, and the tides swallowed the white-stone empire whole.
>The dying world was moving toward its end, with only the shadows of the past lingering in its halls.
She was supposed to die.
Istaroth is what brought her to this state. Pay attention.
Civilisations in teyvat : I'm just going to ignore that.
Also humans : Cries about unfairness after punishment.
I've long ago decided who the biggest villain in Genshin Impact is and who I'd definitely want to punch. Voyager is the one who started all the problems in Teyvat in the first place, from the very beginning.
The whole previous welkin is just based on the resemblance in the hair style.
also its faster to type Phanes instead of Primordial One, Heavenly Principles etc
Edit: Similar to how we use radioactive beads or brachytherapy implants to treat cancer. The beads can be used to obstruct a tumor's feeding vessel and secondarily remain there to either release chemotherapy drugs or radiation to kill the surrounding tumor cells. So in short, throw in the nail to physically destroy the place to prevent escape and release light energy to dilute the existing abyss energy...thus we are left with the physical "waste" byproducts of this reaction...that would be the snow in dragonspine as well as the dark mud in the chasm.
Also Nibelung did not seek out the abyss to stop HP. Nibelung did not know about HP.
None of the suffering in ancient times in Genshin would have happened if not for the Heavenly Principles. Celestia did just about everything wrong.
Dunno where you're getting your information from, perhaps something recent superceded this source but the [Genshin wiki](https://genshin-impact.fandom.com/wiki/Nibelung) states:
>When Nibelung returned during the Funerary Year, he did so bearing forbidden knowledge gleaned from the Abyss, which Apep claims he did believing that it would enable him to overthrow the Heavenly Principles and restore the dragons' dominion.
The cite notes refer to Nahida's second story quest. the Tollan Volcano world quest, and Neuvillette's character story.
Was the HP just meant to let humanity die out ?
Nibelung left and brought the abyss to Teyvat, this had nothing to do with HP. If HP wasn’t there Teyvat would have been completely consumed by the abyss.
Unless we've since heard otherwise, we know that Teyvat was originally inhabited by vishaps. The HP arrived, created humans and transformed the planet to be suitable for them, largely at the expense of the vishaps. If the HP cared about Teyvat's original inhabitants, he wouldn't have transformed their planet in ways that hurt them. Humanity was at no risk from dying out because it hadn't been created yet.
We know that Nibelung created Teyvat, implying he cared about it. We know he left the moon sisters in charge of protecting it while he went travelling to try to save it from the Voyager's prophecy of future demise. Again, suggesting he cared.
We know he then returned with forbidden knowledge and everything got messed up. What possible reason would Nibelung have to do that, if not to fight the HP? Again, the one source we have answering this question is Apep, who says exactly that.
[Hymns of the Far North] is where it’s said that he fell into the abyss by mistake.
[Aubade of Morningstar and Moon] tells the story of how he left in search of something to fight against the abyss with.
I'm really not sure why there are so many people here defending the Heavenly Principles. Literally the first thing we see in the game is their head minion being a dick to us. Our own twin has turned to leading the Abyss to bring Celestia down. Controlling who the seelies can love. Orobashi. Egeria. Time and time again they've shown themselves a force for ill. Even their own shades disobey them at times.
Why the influx of Phanes fans?
That's why he's the crown of reason, guided by pure logic, cold calculation, and devoid of evil intent. Perhaps he wasn't always like this; there are plenty of hints to that effect, but now he is what he is. You may disagree with her methods. I don't agree with them either, but he doesn't resort to them on a whim.
He is a god from the core to the bone
