I have no idea, how to gain experience to get to level 2 so I can do my weekly challenges. I've fought the npcs like diluc, but I'm just not getting any exp to raise my player level. How do I do that?

Adventure challenges in the world, there should be a couple around Mondstadt like the smith at the forge and Timmie on the bridge.
