The lantern rite quest has... LORE?!
Every year Genshin's lantern rite quest usually are filler episodes, but this year's lantern rite story has tons of lore that continues the story from last archon quest.
Not only that, we have hidden New Valet cutscene.

What do you mean? The previous one had tons of lore.
2025 lantern rite is character developmental story for Hu Tao, which is great but still considered side story to the archon quest
Ningguang casually mentioning the events in Natlan between the border of life and death possibly also affecting Liyue's border and asking Beidou to investigate it alongside her various travels in the Alcor
Sure "side story"
I would argue that seeing how the afterlife in Teyvat works is pretty important lore.
It also recommends Natlans quests at that point to be complete like this LR recommends Nod-krais story to be complete, cause the Life/Death story of last years LR developed from Natlans plot of life/death like how this years develops fromt eh moon stuff.
Every lantern rite developes Zhongli/the adepti/liyue usually is some way so its never really been filler
