Goodbye Genshin
I just wanna say farewell from this community I'm completely. Leaving it I got bored and it's just been very lazy to do stuff plus it's killing my phone like cancer so yeah im transferring to Crk or Umamusume I'm also trying to end my genshin addiction it's also so much pay to win not free to play and it's hard being F2p hoyo killed my dream. Of getting columbina plus it's always been hard barely getting a 5 star character yet I love the lore

These games have exponentially worse gacha systems, but okay OP.
if youre f2p and your dream was columbina but you didnt manage to get her, sounds more like poor planning on your part than anything else
crk has worse powercreep than genshin, so complaining about genshin not being f2p friendly (untrue btw) and then saying youre gonna play crk is wild (dont know anything about umamusume so i cant comment on that)
“I quit” what do you expect people to say “good for you “ or “sorry to hear that”
Like ok you quit , what should we do about it???
Like, ok, you're starting, what do you want me to do? Write you a whole damn article explaining basic systems?
You are into nothing brother
https://letmegooglethat.com/?q=genshin+best+characters
Someone announcing their arrival is doing the exact same thing as someone announcing their departure. They want attention.
Bro is not the same thing , stop it
People that just start the game dont understand tier lists or what they do , a human being is better at explaining it than a tier list that 9/10 times doesn’t even give the reason of rankings
Glad they got rid of the trivia about kek-roaches living in human male's sex organ. So this is where our ram, gpus, electricity and vibe coding go to lmao.
Also, if you look at one source and believe it, you should probably stop playing games for a second and go learn how to do basic research.
> People that just start the game dont understand tier lists or what they do , a human being is better at explaining it than a tier list that 9/10 times doesn’t even give the reason of rankings
1) The top result is actually a Reddit discussion. Granted, a bit out of date, but a lot of it still stands.
2) Game8 is the top corporate result, and they do actually explain themselves. You just have to click on the character.
3) Understanding tier lists isn't hard homie. They're actually really easy to understand. That's why everyone makes them.
But ok, you *really* want an up to date human opinion on what's best.

Done.
But no, a new player announcing their start gets coddled, someone leaving gets shit on. That's really the only difference.
And yes makes sense helping someone who is joining, this is a Genshin sub, if you are leaving you are not part of it anymore. Announcing you are not playing anymore is strange, like, what are we going to do?
If you just read the headline and ignore the details, that's a you problem.
> people can guide on future characters and predict banners like reruns.
Now if you want to talk about ass, speculation about future characters and reruns is where you're going to find it.
Also, last I checked, there's a daily quick questions thread for that.
> Announcing you are not playing anymore is strange, like, what are we going to do?
Not be a dick about it?
The odds of you being new and running into a situation that literally no one's ever had is basically zero.
"Hi I'm new" threads basically never have specific questions about unusual issues. They're all just "Hi what do I do" threads that could be just as curtly and dismissively answered by telling the new player to google it.
Why can't you just tell them, "Hey, we're sorry you're frustrated with the game, hope you have a great time in the next game you go to"?
Or. You know. Just don't say anything?
I think it's pretty telling that you *know* that you're treating people leaving "badly", but you somehow don't think that's a problem.
Even here though, I'm not biased. I give the same "be careful" warning to new players coming *into* Genshin, because as much as this subreddit loves to talk about how uniquely great Genshin is, it's still a gacha game. [/edit]
You're just trying to post hoc justify being a dick to someone who's leaving the tribe.
Not everyone cares about the same things, so not everyone has the same definition of P2W.
Someone might see the more F2P pulls another game gives and consider that to be more F2P friendly than Genshin's slow power creep + fewer free pulls.
That's not for you to judge.
In fact, posts like this are banned on this subreddit, it goes under "Low-Quality Posts", specifically because you can't make any meaningful discussions with it.
> In fact, posts like this are banned on this subreddit
Subreddit rules are borderline meaningless and function purely at the whims of the mods.
"Hi I'm new" threads arguably also run afoul of the "low quality posts" rule - that's also a "repetitive generic topic that doesn't contribute to constructive discussion" (it's just going to be a bunch of people giving the same tired old platitudes on "don't stress about the meta" and "have fun" and "here are the guides you could have just googled"), and arguably also violates rule 3 on megathreads - there's a "casual conversation" megathread on the sidebar for saying hi, and there's a "simple questions" megathread for basically anything a new player would ask.
But you're giving "Hi I'm new" threads a free pass on that because...?
For all we know, the "hi, I'm new" threads could just be children or retired old people finally getting into a new hobby that's beyond their current circle. They most likely are. Sure there may be bad eggs, but that's just how it is. If they are, who cares really, why bother wasting energy to be mean? The best thing that can be done is to be welcoming, we'll gain another person who likes the game and has hope for the community to be good. Doesn't cost anything to be kind.
Announcing your Leaving though, is slightly different... It's responses can be kind of mean because of many reasons. One of it is if it gives off that subtheme that the thing the community likes is bad. A more relevant one is because of selfish reasons nobody would actually be concerned about, like what OP is giving.
But it doesn't have to be all bad. Someone saying they're leaving but they are made to do so because of sensible reasons will always have the support of people. Someone could say "I have to leave my 4 years old account because i need to sell it to have money for college textbooks", and saying "this isn't an airport" will just brand you as an asshole.
Just one of those social complexities man.
Or, for that matter, to say nothing.
This isn't really social complexity. It's just naked tribalism. Which is bad.
And I'd say to say nothing costs the least too. But we are in a platform in which we are given the ability to speak, and as such, not utilizing it is equally a waste.
That's what we call a non sequitur.
"Tribalism is not inherently bad" does not logically follow from "tribalism is inevitable".
Yes, tribalism is inevitable. But since it's also inherently bad, you should make an active effort to not engage with it.
Now, if you'd wanted to argue tribalism *isn't* inherently bad, you'd need to make an argument as to why the harms of tribalism (like blind defense of the tribe even against valid criticisms, i.e., Genshin fans' refusal to just acknowledge that Genshin is a predatory gacha game, and instead constantly default to defending it on the grounds that "Genshin is better than other gacha games") aren't actually that harmful, or that the benefits of tribalism outweigh the harms, neither of which you've attempted to do.
Also, "tribalism" and "socialism" are concepts in entirely different fields. We could have global socialism right now and tribalism would still remain.
> HOAs
I'll note that HOAs are generally not viewed as a positive force. Their whole raison d'etre is kinda effed up to begin with.
> But we are in a platform in which we are given the ability to speak, and as such, not utilizing it is equally a waste.
From my point of view, using your ability to speak to promote mindless tribalism is worse than doing nothing at all with it, but then again, I'm not part of this specific mindless tribe.
Saying this on Hoyo's most f2p friendly game is wild.
Better banner system too at least nowadays, where you have guaranteed win on your first coinflip on certain banner, character selector, roll discounts (10 pull costs 8 fates instead of 10) and the game actually telling you how much rolls you have left until the hard pity for 4 and 5 stars without you having to calculate it yourself. You also get 200 rolls next patch as a F2P too from the Lunar new year but that's a patch limited thing of course.
Not that Genshin's story is unplayable with only free characters though, just that you can spend less time on grind and experience different characters for free.
No gacha game makes their main story unplayable for free.
F2P devs aren't making their games free out of the kindness of their hearts.
The presence of F2Ps are required for the game's business model to function, therefore, F2P games *must* make allowances for F2P players to keep up with the game.
Gacha games might have special whale tier levels or small bits of paywalled story.... like Genshin's SO Dire or the Witch's Homework quests, but basically main story will always be available for free, and endgame will be completable if you put in some effort.
No F2P game is truly F2P friendly, they're just optimized to appeal to and take advantage of people with specific tastes.
If you don't want to engage with the game as much, Genshin's slower character release rate and resultant power creep will appeal to you more.
Do you want to pull more? Go play something like ZZZ where you get more free pulls, but there's more power creep.
The only objectively powercrept agents at the moment are pretty much all the standard banner ones.
There's more shilling going however because they made the Mauvika mistake with Miyabi back in the day and attempts to restrain Miyabi do collateral to other agents. Although with the current lunar shill meta and Hoyo not even giving you a free character to trigger lunar reactions Genshin may be worse, and who knows what kind of shill will come with Snezhnaya.
I'll also add that ZZZ is a lot more skill-based game than Genshin where you actually need to learn combos and have reaction to dodge/counter, so for good players potential powercreep is less of an issue.
If and when ZZZ's power creep gets worse, they'll also provide a way to overcome.
The point is, every gacha game will.
A game might have more or less power creep, but that doesn't change the fact that as a F2P, you'll always be given a way to keep up.
Genshin isn't more F2P friendly because it has less power creep, because Mihoyo's taking something away somewhere else, just like a high power creep game isn't automatically less F2P friendly - the dev will be giving you something somewhere else.
Also, elemental based reactions are more comfy to play around with and that a starter hyperbloom team of Lisa (or giveaway Keqing if new players have the option), barbara, collei and Dendro MC (run toward sumeru after the flying battle w/ dvalin). Only needed Em stat for electro trigger and literally no rotation order. It can be used to build up/farm gears for a team the player likes. Also demolishes almost any non Dendro stuff up to Natlan.
I should've done that instead of months unga bunga'ing with noelle who is unkillable but kills slower due to zero reactions.
Plus, starting from a certain natlan AQ, Hoyo shoves limited banner unit that you use in boss fights where you cannot un-alive yourself like it's a literal spoonfeeding. Similar to post inazuma puzzles being on baby/child-like difficulties.
Plus, endgame like Stygian limit the primos on lower levels. Current hard one can be farmed without natlan/nodkrai units.
