This time i managed to somehow weasel my way to complete for the first time the hard mode. Ironically i just have one geo character build: Xilonen that's about it, and i barely even used her on the whole thing.
I felt in love with the combo Yelan and Yoimiya. They were fucking amazing.

Yelan and Yoimiya are both in my most-used overworld team, and I'll pair them up in pretty much anything I have the excuse to, really. Yelan can round everyone up and do a ton of damage on her own, and then Yoimiya turns into a Vaporize machine gun. Always a good time.

The thing is this IT really isnt even shilled for Zibai/Lunar, I used Kachina+Aino to break the geo shield on the golem, then Neuvillette+Ineffa to nuke the shit out of it while its down, rinse repeat

When the davs try to shill a character, they don't force you to use the character.
Instead they make it so that you can still clear it with the character but said shill can do it easier.
But if you have enough DPS, you can do that to anything and just put 1 character to handle the mechanics.

Yeah. I just used Zhongli to break its shield and whacked it Arle, XL and Benny. That and the other smaller knight golems were the only ones needing geo but you can still brute force it with claymore or just pure damage.

Real, the rest of my 4 eligible geo characters are just lvl 70 with lvl 0 noblesse/scroll artifacts. Luckily geo characters weren't that necessary in the end.

I had a pretty good spin through Visionary Mode this time around, then tried Lunar, got awful character selections handed to me at exactly the wrong times, and quit out halfway through. This mode really, really, really wants you to have maxed out EVERYONE, which...uh...I have not.

Nah not really, you really just need 4-6 good strong dpses, having a whale support also guarantees 2 levels even with no support teammates, others are just fillers/noblesse/tenacity bots.
12 out of my 22 characters selected are built, good tip for players who have less built characters is to get 1 type of blessing maxed early, so you brute force the early levels even with bad units then you can be more picky on later levels. In my case I picked the vape blessing, so even with trial yoimiya she hits hard. I also try to pick my unbuilt characters early so I can just fodder them as a last slot or on the defense level.
I gotta say I got lucky this time, my run was literally bricked at the Legastus golem, had to rewind for mystery caches to restore vigor of used characters and fortunately my Neuvillette got restored

I physically cringed and when "eugh" this morning when I realized all of my Geo units for Theatre were basically Limited 5 stars. Where are the Fischls, Gamings, and Sethoses for Geo damage and application? (They did Kachina extremely dirty). We can't even get a Standard character in this climate?? Are we really just stuck with Ningguang and Noelle until the sun burns out?!
Hyperbole aside, it is rough out here for Geo 4 stars. Like *worse than Cryo* rough.

I feel like cryo is so much worse in 4 star options, with geo every single 4 star geo is useful in IT, but most cryo 4 star feel like dead weight whenever I have to use them.

With 4 stars like Rosaria, Charlotte, Layla, Diona and Kaeya that can actually be useful for sustain and reaction enabling it's way better than geo. Sure cryo as a whole has it pretty bad, but the 4 star selection is still better than geo.

I was in the same situation. Xilonen is the only geo five-star I have. In fact, she's the only geo character I have for Theatre at \*all\*, aside from Noelle who's level 70 with unleveled artifacts.
But this turned out to be my easiest Theatre yet. I guess because I recently triple-crowned my first character (Durin) and got my Gāmíng to C6 for Lantern Rite. (And borrowed my friend's Neuvillette for Act 8, but honestly I'm not sure I even needed to.)

This IT is the first time I've had to reset since 2024. My geo roster sucks and it kept forcing me to use my pyro/hydro characters and I have none of the special guest stars.
I'm extra salty about it because one of the arcana was the Tsaritsa's Throne but I lost it upon reset. I ended up rolling the Celestia one on the second run, at least.

As for dps, I really don't have a 5\* geo. Noelle is hard carrying.
Usually I'd borrow someone's c6 Chiori. Unfortunately forcing her as a starter unit, means I cannot.
Thankfully I found someone with a c6 Itto.

The thing with geo in IT is that you are generally better off just filling out your other elements and relying on the other two than getting goe 5*s. Hoyo left them dead for so long that the old ones aren’t worth getting with the exception of xilonen and maybe zhongli. The lunar ones look good but are gonna kinda suck in IT since they need hydro.
That said, do build your 4 stars like Noelle Gorou Kachina ect..

I have a doubt. So it shows 26/28 characters and my ningguang is level 60. I can get her to level 70. Which makes 27/28. Can I play lunar mode or no ? Since this won't count the support character (friend's character). Or do I need to build another character too ? My other char is at level 40 and I got no books or fragile 💀
