I meed angry characters who show this level of anger and spite and not be afraid to display it to the traveler. We got too many

\- Nice characters

\- Cheery characters

\- Apathetic characters

\- And Tsundere’s like Citlali and Sandrone (I know)

I need some characters who leave a bad impression on others and have a bad attitude while kinda being a dick. Still someone the Traveler can associate with but not a super friendly to everyone type or hides their emotions.

I need to see characters who are pissed off and start conflict due to being a dick

That's funny because a sizeable portion freaked out specifically about him becoming nicer than he was before. A phrase best translated as "moral-bleaching" (that literally uses the characters for "white" and "washing" but obviously that has a different context in North American sensibilities) got thrown around in regards to their unwillingness to allow a playable evil character.

Many folks are quite smitten with Wanderer. One whale or fan club buys AD SPACE on giant billboards on certain streets and signs in a shopping mall for him every year.

But, I also heard some deluded fuckwit killed a cat over him too. Truly deranged and tragic levels of hate.

Ha! Arle, much as I love her, is a shadow of what she could - should - have been. All the truly evil shit was put on Crucabena, so arguably the worst thing we see Arle ever do is assaulting Furina to scare her and make her think she is being assassinated.

But who can blame Hoyo? People still cry about Childe “genociding Liyue” and, yeah, there’s that whole debacle about Wanderer. Over at HSR people are still whining about Ruan Mei, too.
So, morally whitewashed characters are all we’re ever going to get. They already are in full swing with scrubbing the Hexenzirkel ladies squeaky clean for release. It’s such a pity :/

Come on they literally showed her internal dialogue, exposing her insecurities and letting you know she's putting up a facade for some reason. We also knew that the people of Fontaine didn't revere her as a god but rather liked her as a celebrity or mascot of sorts, giving their highest respect to Neuvillette instead. And we knew from before that an Archon's power was somehow tied to their people's belief/reverence towards them. It's not difficult to put two and two together and figure out that at the very least she's in some kind of trouble (maybe lacking her powers or something) and desperately trying to save face (to maybe get her powers back if people start worshipping her again).

We couldn't know the full story but it was made very obvious that she was not a bad person (as shown when she showed concern that she may have judged Lyney wrong) and was worried about the prophecy.

I remember that, a decent amount of the Childe hate lasted until he next appeared in the Labrynth event. Then when you could see him playing with Yoimiya and Inazuma kids. Yoimiya even went out of her way to say he wasn't a bad guy despite being a harbinger.

His SQ alone showed his good side and that hes a multi layered character, loves his family. Hes simply a guy whose loyalty is to a different side than ours

Then finally his arc in Fontaine, since then I haven't seen any hate for him. I really like characters like him and how they are written. Adds so much depth in relationships and a different dynamic with others

The problem isn’t releasing evil characters, it’s that once they become playable, most of their past actions just disappear without them ever having to confront them. It’s as if all of their crimes are being whitewashed so they can become playable and grow close to the Traveler. The Fatui Harbingers are the best example of this, just look at how normal Fatui workers and agents are portrayed. Most Fatui agents were evil from the start and did nothing but cause trouble in every region, and many of them were either killed or severely injured, like Alphonso in the Aranara quest.
However, when it comes to the Fatui Harbingers, who are supposed to be the leaders and the ones controlling these agents, they’re suddenly portrayed as benevolent or less malevolent just to win the Traveler’s favor except for Dottore and Signora (probably because Signora already had a lover). I have no problem with releasing evil playable characters, but they need to stay evil. Most importantly, the Traveler should keep their distance from them or actively oppose them, like they did with Dottore.
I also don’t mind if they’re canonically killed in the story. I mean, we can have dead playable characters, right? Especially extreme cases like Rhinedottir, who has committed countless evil acts and is responsible for thousands of deaths, yet still gets a pass because she’s a Hexenzirkel witch and a Shade. It feels like they’re already trying to humanize and whitewash her just to make her playable.

He has the energy of a teacher that worked their job for decades, has been broken by the system and are basically just counting down the days to retirement at this point.

They completely lost all hope in kids that are utterly brainrotted by TikTok and social media they can't even concentrate for 10 straight minutes in 12th grade anymore. But when a kid GENUINELY tries, even if they fail, the fact that they HAVE tried is what matters and what ultimately keeps the teacher going. So do kids just being curious about something.

That kind of teacher. That's Alhaitham. He glows up when someone shows genuine curiosity in something and shuts down the moment he thinks someone is talking out of their ass.

If there is anything I learned from Wuthering Waves' Closed Beta Test back then, there were a lot of folks (mostly from CN) who absolutely hate when the MC is given harsh treatment, especially when they did nothing wrong yet.

Remember that a Character being nice to the MC is part of the Marketing to encourage Players to Pull. Having a Character just be rude to the MC at any level, regardless of their spot in the Meta, would have a risk of not having good Banner Sales. Even here in Genshin, Yae was initially given a lot of hate with the amount of heckling she did to the Traveler when they were still getting along. That said, I wouldn't be surprised of Zibai gets the same treatment after this conversation.

I, for one, however, agree with you. I was getting tired of meeting every single Character like I was in a Dating Sim. XD

Shenhe was originally framed as a person who was constantly teetering on the edge of being violently unhinged, but they resolved this part of her very shortly after her release. Now she demonstrates basically none of this character flaw. Shame too as she had a similar vibe to Chongyun in that they both have triggers that make them act wildly out of their usual character. Chongyun gets excitable and overly energetic, Shenhe would get violent and murderous.

Same, give me characters who make me want to punt their asses into the sky. I loved wanderer as he was so different to where everyone was nice or polite to us. Childe was also kinda fun as he was our enemy we didn't like but he kept on poking at us.

I love a lot of genshins characters but I do wish we had more characters who didn't like us or are rude to us. Heck even a character we can't befriend would be nice.

Lmao look how wuwa went from beta ver when characters were actually weary of you to every character loves you. As for genshin Wanderer is its most extreme example of people losing thier shit cause his personality wasn't nice (plus he was female gamer's favorite and incles hated that). Even looking at columbina, it's clear that they didn't meant for her to be a moon goddess and wanted to go in different direction (maybe as many assume also personality wise) and we ended up with a docile damsel with distress with angel motif that has nothing to do with angels

I don't have a stake in this, I'm fine with Wanderer, but maybe it's because generally rudeness isn't called out in game? It would be one thing if the other characters reacted appropriately, but instead you are kinda just forced to listen to them being rude in a one-way direction and can't do anything about it. At best you'd get a 'wow they got quite a temper' afterwards, but no confronting them in the heat of the moment.

This why Ajaw grew on me. Despite my reservations at first about him, he’s egotistical jerkassery is a breath of fresh air in a cast of mostly nice people. He’s an awful little shit—but he’s also the only straight up awful person that I know is going to stick around thanks to being part of a duo with Kinich.

He also is basically guaranteed to stay a horrible person, because the game only wants to treat him as comic relief despite the interesting lore tied to him, and at this point I’ll take it. It’s a shame the writers use the comic relief part to overshadow Kinich sometimes, however.
