Raiden Shogun figure

Hello everybody, I finally could take some proper pictures of Raiden I made a while ago. It is 3d printed and hand painted. It was the first time I painted purple NMM, so it might didn't come out as I planned. The base is probably my favourite I made with that tori gate.

That tori gate is well done, but her robes look amazing. I was thinking "Looks neat" at first, but the more I look at it, the more impressed I am.

Only thing off about it is her hair. It's kinda dull. I don't mean dull as in "boring", more like dull as in, "She should switch to a different conditioner." It does look great, but just not up to the high standards set by the rest of the paint job (especially her robes).

Completely agree. Even now, after around 10 months I made this, I'm still struggling with hair. Mostly because it's hard to print, and hard to post process. It's hard to paint it with brush, because the tip just slides off if I'm not holding the brush completely still and parralell to the hair lines (to follow the hair strands) so I end up doing most of it my airbrush, then a bit of details with brush, but I get so frustrated for the afformentioned things that it doesn't come out as I plan.

In short, it's frustrating and hard for me to paint the hair, so i have to improve a lot in that part. I might try to do it the way I did on my Kafka model.

Thanks for the compliment of the robe. That one in it's entirety is probably my top 3 work, even considering I probably worked on the upper part for at least a week alone.
